Jane’s Addiction Release New Music Following Onstage Fight and Tour Cancellation – No Treble
In a strange twist of events, Jane’s Addiction has released a new single just days after an on-stage fight that led to their reunion tour being canceled. “True Love” joins “Imminent Redemption” as part of the first new music from the band’s original lineup in 34 years.
The new song has a somewhat somber atmosphere as singer Perry Farrell gently sings about finding true love. It features subtle and supportive bass work by Eric Avery, whose reintroduction sparked new life into the band.
Farrell was seen getting in guitarist Dave Navarro’s face during a solo during a Boston performance. He was then dragged off the stage. He eventually apologized and took responsibility, while the rest of the band members released their own statement.
“Due to a continuing pattern of behavior and the mental health difficulties of our singer Perry Farrell, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to discontinue the current US tour,” they shared on Instagram. “Our concern for his personal health and safety as well as our own has left us no alternative. We hope that he will find the help he needs. We deeply regret that we are not able to come through for all our fans who have already bought tickets. We can see no solution that would either ensure a safe environment on stage or reliably allow us to deliver a great performance on a nightly basis. Our hearts are broken. Dave, Eric and Stephen”
“True Love” is available now on Apple Music, Amazon Music, and other streaming platforms.
