Do you know what year they started making this model?
Such an old video. My parents bought me mine 20 years ago for 99 bucks and it still sounds and plays so well. Have never done any maintenance to it other than strings, and I have "better" guitars at this point but my old jasmine means the most to me.
It's a really good long lasting guitar for the price. The tuning pegs are really cheap. I would recommend swapping those out.
Very nice informative review. Thank you.
It is a great guitar! What do You recommend for clean the fretboard and the body?
Hello, i have a jasmine ts74c
You can hear and see it here:

Very reliable
Yay a competent review who mentions a truss rod and wood type. I was thinking about buying one of these. What about folks who been playing for around 25 years, I play mostly electric but just wanted an acoustic to get the acoustic sound.
One word: C R A P .
Just picked up a used s35 for 50 bucks…best 50 I've ever spent…i also live 30 mins south of Lexington Kentucky….theyll bury my grave here ????
That guitar sounds terrible
I have a Takamine by Jasmine S-55. I can't find anything online about it. How is it different from the S-35?
Hello! I came across this video and was surprised when I heard that this was the Doo Wop Shop, in Lexington! I live here, and got a jasmine from here!
I have one, and I really like it. The point about the satin finish and tone is true, and I think it looks better, especially within its price range. Cheap and thick polyester finishes on acoustics are real turnoffs to me. It came with light gauge phosphor bronze strings which did not sound amazing. However, after switching them out for 80/20 Di Addarios, the sound has become a lot brighter and better in my opinion. I also put in white plastic pins. Another criminally underrated feature of this guitar is that it includes a neck heel strap button. Great guitar!
Now, in the future of 2019, these sell for $90.50. Tried one out locally. Rough frets needing polishing, and one tuner had too much slop, free play, whatever you want to call it. Otherwise, pretty nice.
Just found one used at Guitar Center for $50. One of the best low end laminated top guitars I have ever heard/played. Even with old strings it played with ease and sounded fantastic.
Time to save money
It is, indeed, a great sounding guitar for the price. Played well straight from the first stringing. (before I had it set-up by my favorite local guitar shop folk at Hyland Music in SLC UT) Has required very little in terms of maintenance and once the action was brought down a bit by the gang at Hyland I have had no problems in learning to play.
The Jasmine S-35 is a Very good first guitar for an adult who is just starting down the road to learning how to play! Highly recommended! Especially for the price.
SLR
I love this guitar it is my favorite guitar besides my strat.
This is a great review video. I did A review on this guitar and found out that it is a great beginners guitar and I Like it so much I'm adding it to my collection for a kick around guitar, to take camping.
$120.00?????? WTH??? That unit sales for 75 – 85 dollars all over the internet. For $120 I'd go buy a Fender FA-60 rather than this box of beaver poop.
Which strings are best for this guitar?
I didn't mention a rosewood finger board lol
what would be the next step up from here
why not play it?
dont you reply to emails
these guitars are not shipped to the UK and it says free shoppin I ordered one paid for it an d my order was confirmed then it was cancelled with no reason what a disgrace
only beginner / budget guitar with a 1 3/4 inch nut.
I'm really short, I want to know if this guitar is as big as a standard dreadnought or smaller?
