Tempo = 120 BPM
Key = C Major
Chord progression:
II: Dm7 I G7 I Cmaj7 I A7 :II
You will hear extended versions of these basic chords on the track… as is common in jazz of course 🙂
Arpeggios:
Dmin7 arpeggio = d f a c
G7 arpeggio = g b d f
Cmaj7 arpeggio = c e g b
A7 arpeggio = a c# e g
Scales for soloing:
C Major – C D E F G A B (C)
D Harmonic Minor – D E F G A Bb C# (D)
Playing C Major scale will result in C Ionian (Cmaj7 chords), D Dorian (Dm7 chords) and G Mixolydian (G7 chords) – all the same 7 notes…
Next up, try out some more advanced colours on the dominant chord (G7/G13) by using the
G diminished 1/2-1 tone scale = G Ab Bb B C# D E F (G)
And how about trying the Altered Scale (Superlocrian) on A7?
A Superlocrian Mode – A Bb C C# Eb F G (A)

I love how crazy this genre is, go and hit any note around the scale in any order and IT STILL SOUNDS GREAT
This is perfect to pracrice the walking bass lines
Either my bass is totally out of tune, and my tuner to, or this is in B and not C

Jazz is so fun to practice, I'm a beginner pianist and everytime I tried to improvise I sounded like trash
But jazz feels different, this is my thing
So fun to play along with! Love it!
Thank you very much for this. Helped with my school work.
Dear sir. I have a question for C code 2-5-1-6. Based on my understanding, 6 should be Am7 yet, your last code is A7 and it sounds beautiful. Could you fix me?
So great, bro. Really gave me time to stretch out and try new things! Cheers!
Miss the bass…
are you sure you don't mean Am7 and not A7?
Fretless uke bass shedding overhere
Bass ??? Where is the bass?
I'm new at understanding music signs. Did I interpret this correctly as: Dm7 Dorian, G7 Mixolydian, Cmaj7 Ionian and A7 Aeolian?
Love this track!
Was playing this with my bass guitar but I really felt like a jazzman with a double bass
Its simple…
Find those 4 chords , find their notes and play arpeggio of those chords(including the 7/7b).. if you want to spice it up.. use a mode over those 4 chords…
try to mess around by playing what sounds good to you.. don't just pay 1st 5th… try 3/1/7/5 just to see how it sounds.. use a scale in between to make a small solo..
by messing around you figure out what sounds good and develop your style..
Esuchar jazz. Ver como se toca y luego venir aca en tempo ojo y todo es magia
