My name is Jens Larsen, Danish Jazz Guitarist, and Educator. The videos on this channel will help you explore and enjoy Jazz. Some of it is how to play jazz guitar, but other videos are more on Music Theory like Jazz Chords or advice on how to practice and learn Jazz, on guitar or any other instrument.
The videos are mostly jazz guitar lessons, but also music theory, analysis of songs and videos on jazz guitars.

broo, I'm playing through doxy changes like that, just triads and enclosures, and it sounds fire! just basic triads, not even 7th
how do you know which enclosure shape to use?
Dude, you are very useful
Awesome lesson!
Simple, but brilliant.
This is actually incredibly good ❤ thanks man!
This is essentially 20 years of guitar lessons in under a minute
if its not too much, can you explain which notes would act as enclosures? I know leading notes would be the 7th to each triad note
You explain things so simply, I love it
Thanks!
I learned chromatic steps into chord shapes in a country instruction book. One time I find it to be both beautiful and outside, sounding at the same time.
Amazing how seemingly simply concept can fundamentally improve one's playing. Thank you once again Maestro!
Now this is going to be a helpful concept to explore and apply to my solos.
What is an enclosure around a note? I dont know and I want to learn. Thanks in advance!
this is the gold, thanks as always
Love this guy. Insightfully eye-opening.
One of the best teachers on YT ????????
Just found your channel! Thank you good sir!
Typical gypsy method. Best method too.
Great!❤
The enclosure phrase is like Joe pass chord melody in "when you wish upon a star"
Great tip. Thanks Jens
This guy knows the guitar . Wow
I am learning a lot of terminology by watching your videos. Many ideas, I already use in my soloing, but many others I am also picking up or refining.
Rookie question, what does "enclosure" actually mean?
Hey Jen Larsen can you play other instruments or tried other instruments
????????????????????????????????
O_O
You are amazing and really know your stuff if you pray pls prY for that i could focus with life long adhd played guitar 50 years and still stuck in pentatonic – I love what you do I've always dreamed to be a real jazz musician scott kelly you tube
Very cool. Found it really easy to implement after messing around with it for a few minutes, really lets you do a lot with very little. Thanks!
You are using scale theory to construct these licks bro
Dang! Super useful! I have to try that!
Love these shorts!
Thanks Jens. This is helpful in many ways.
Great concept sir ????????✌️????
????
Seems like when the classical appoggiatura is taken to the extremes you start speaking bebop:)
Thanks
It's one of those concepts where it's easy to grasp; hard to internalize so you can pull it out at anytime!!!????
That's so fun. Awesome, thank you Jens.
Aw man, you make it look so easy, like Bob Ross painting a mountain lake.
I have a question. I’m a very basic blues player but I’m always found playing three frets up of whatever note I’m actively playing sounds cool. (Minor 3rd I believe) Am I applying this principle because I’m not following a particular scale of notes? For example if I played these notes on a single string 7-10-7-10
5-8-5-8
0-3-0-3
I know the “8” isn’t part of the minor pentatonic scale but it sounds cool when I throw it in. So am I ignoring scales when I play a note and then three notes above back and forth?
George Benson is awesome
Is an enclosure always a half step below to a whole step above and then back to the target note?
I think it’s when you learn this you start to understand jazz isn’t necessarily complicated – it’s just a sound of flow toward chord tones.
Love these quick tips. Very helpful for easy lessons. Thx!
