Jerry is a hugely talented guy. AIC is just an amazing band. They were never really grunge IMO, just their version of metal.
So cool!! Jerry is the tone master! How could they NOT talk about the yellow EVH that’s hanging right there?! That’s the one that got stolen and resurfaced 18 years later!
Great thorough interview…. not getting too much into the nitty gritty of gear but the bigger picture behind a "sound" or "approach". Cheers!
He’s a dude !!
Jerry and AIC have always had the best sound. Or at least the sound I enjoyed the most of all rock guitars. It's gritty grunge but there is definitely a bit of country influence there. Sounds so western and authentic. It's my favorite.
The interviewer keeps cutting him off. Jeebuz.
11:15 Holy Moses, love the tude.
Classy dude!
I would love to just sit w jerry and talk music,he's so chilled and humble
I am surprised he didn't give credit to Kim Thayil for the drop tunnings, I am sure that I had heard before in an interview with Kim Thayil that Jerry was asking way back about what tuning he used on the song Nothing to Say , and from that point on Alice in Chains became a different sounding band.
The more i learn about him the more i feel like id like to know him.
This Annoying Censoring… We are Adults… Not Babies! ????????
1:00 What the hell is that laugh?
He was using a Firebird when Alice was touring with Korn about 2 years ago. The story behind the drop D tuning was actually Soundgarden’s Kim Thayil, according to another video.
Theres old pictures of Jerry playing a Randall RG100ES. Incredible player.
"I leave that all up to 'erb man yeah" ????
Interesting statement, man ????
Lol. Imagine Jerry being pissed at his dad learning to play an acoustic having no idea where he would be years later
DIRT WAS THE 1ST ALBUM I BOUGHT. CANTRELL STILL BLOWS MOST OUTTA THE WATER WITH TONE AND WRITING. COOL DUDE
Good lord he aged fast.
sooo we talk about the guitars , but no looking…?
Lol the white pick he’s talking about he used with the wings on them I caught one from him in 2014 at thunder valley casino. Good times
Jerry is the best guitarist in grunge.
The guy looks and sounds like a down to earth dude. Sure he is aware of his fame and his millions of dollars, but in the end he humbles himself in music. I don't think he realizes how transcendental and influential he's become. By far one of the best musicians of all time.
#TheApsylum EPIC
I think Jerry should get his modded marshall back. Cmon kickstarter fund to get him that amp back. He is the one that should have it!
Jesus Loves You
Jerry is such a cool guy. and he’s got the best laugh ❤️
I love how happy Jerry seems nowadays compared to the first few years after AIC reformed, he seems like he’s really hit his stride again
the interviewer is a bit annoying
That was cool. Thanks Jerry.
We need an Acoustic guitar video Jerry!!
Instant like
Man, Jerry just seems like a humble and cool dude.
Love the G&L Guitar with the Seahawks Sticker #GoHawks #12thMan
