  • I love my Kemper but I do think your amp/pedalboard version was slightly better….just seemed to have more life and thickness to it. I do agree that the Kemper gets you probably 80-85% of the quality but the convenience is probably worth it. I mean its so much easier to take around with you.

  • These digital profiler sound okay but if you can't hear the digital compressing of the signal and how it's destroying your tone you really shouldn't be playing bass I use a tube amps into 15 + 810 cabinets live and nothing can touch it

  • The Kemper has a slapback delay kinda thing. I think its because you profiled in a reverby room or something like this. Its sounds weird to me.

  • A very helpful and informative video thanks, I’m thinking about getting a kemper rig for bass and this has been insightful.

  • March 16 2022… About 3 years after C19 dropped.
Now, what are the rules. I mean, who knew the cure to C19 was Putin invading Ukraine.
    MUSICIANS! BACK TO WORK!!!

  • Prefer the amp. Has more depth to it. That low end is there. The kemper just sounds a bit thin

  • I gotta say, a HUGE reason I am leaning towards picking up a Kemper is simply because I can play guitar and bass through it. I don’t have to stress out about two rigs… that’s pretty sweet.

  • After watching 3 of his videos and spending almost an hour with him, I am sad to have learned Steve Nanney died in December 2020. I hope it wasn't COVID, after making fun of public health measures in this video. The obituary is sparse, who knows. RIP sir, you seem like a great guy and I'm sorry you didn't make it to the green gigging pastures of the Summer of 2020. You passed 11 days after the Pfizer vaccine was approved for emergency use; you were so SO close to being able to gig again.

  • The Kemper sounds cleaner, the pedal board sounds fatter in headphones….how many profiles do you use in a show?

  • Maybe it's because I'm using Hi-Res headphones, but I do notice a big difference on the low end. The Kemper sounds a lot thinner.

Have you thought about using a D.I box on your pedal board instead? That way you still won't need to bring in a amp and a cab.

  • Love the Kemper for Bass! I have the Rack version. Use it primary for recording. Would love to have the Kemper Stage for live use (if it's possible anytime soon). The only thing I wish it would have is a better octave sound and some synth possibilities. So I have still to cary half of my pedalboard with the kemper.

  • Sire man huh. I have 5 sire bass, when 4 and 1 on the way. My church is switching to kemper for the entire band. This video helps. I'm so use to cabinet and bass amp head. Time will tell. Can I plug my fender bass head into the kemper?

  • dont get we wrong i really dig the kemper but i also love my ampeg svt and i started playing in 1980. i finally got my first killer bass amp in late 80s which was my ampeg which i still use today.my band plays big venues and for those big venues i use 2 810 ampeg cabs.there is absolutely no replacing the feeling and the sound on stage.ive tried changing it up and a big part of my playing is me being able to feel my sound as well as others in the band.there is nothing like it in my opinion.as much as i dig the kemper the old school big powerful bass rig is where its at for me.in no way am i knocking any bassists who believe in something else etc i also want to thank you for posting your video

  • Don’t forget the parallel path option for Kemper bass players. It can minimize the compressor issue e.g. by adding compression only to mids/highs and keep the full power of the low end channel. Never regretted using Kemper do far…
