King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard Release 26th Studio Album, “Flight b741” – No Treble
Prolific Australian rock band King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard have released their 26th album, Flight b741, which they call a “back to basics” rock album. The group is known for their boundaryless experimentation and complex arrangements, but they stripped it all back for a bluesier sound.
“Named after a chord progression popularized by the likes of the Allman Brothers and The Grateful Dead, ‘Flight b741’ is an album designed for robust live performance, with songs serving as convenient jam anchors with a fun and steady tone,” the band shares. “The classic sound is paired with an exuberant and thrilling energy with lyrics about the pursuit of a life worth living, symbolized by the album’s central theme: ‘when pigs fly, I’ll be on the flight.’”
It was also a very collaborative effort that marks bassist Lucas Harwood’s first full songwriting credit for the band. Bass was additionally tracked by Stu Mackenzie, Joey Walker, and Cook Craig.
