I don't know where he heard that it's wired out of phase, but that's wrong: it's magnetically out of phase. Gary Moore had it examined at the Hamer factory in the '80s and Jol Dantzig found that while the wiring was correct, one of the pickups had had it's magnet flipped the wrong way.
