Here's Joe Walsh story. In the early 1980's I lived n the mountains west of Boulder Colorado — up on Sugarload Mountain Road. Early one Sunday morning in the winter there was a knock-knock-knock on the front door. I opened the door and I immediately recognized that the person at the front door was Joe Walsh. He looked like he'd been at a party all night where he couldn't leave because he couldn't find the door. He asked me if I would help him get his Mercedes out of the snowy ditch along the road in front of the house. I grabbed a shovel and snow shovel and followed him across the road. Joe took the snow shovel and I used the shovel and we dug all the snow from around and under the car. Then I dug a path back up to the road. Joe was slipping and sliding and falling down in the snow and having a good ol' time. Then Joe got into the car and shifted back and forth from drive to reverse and I pushed the car — finally the car broke loose and made it back up to the road. Joe shook my hand and said "Thanks" and motored on down Sugarloaf Road towards Boulder.

Just fantastic, Joe has always been a guitar hero of mine. Attended many shows, Ringo's All Star Band with Todd Rundgren Dave Edmonds and Joe walks out on stage with a big Pink bunny suit playing a big drum. I don't want to work I want to bang on the drum all day. Top shelf as always ♪♫♪♫♪♫

Really good lesson, I've played this one for years. It is alleged (verified?) that a Cooper Time Cube is used on the main riff, adding to the body of the sound and the double tracking effect.

Walsh was a mess but wrote such catchy seemingly playable stuff. Would be amazing if you did "I Like Big Tits" & his part of Henley's "Dirty Laundry".

Love it. People love to talk about this or that guitarist being "underrated", and usually it's someone who's great but not necessarily a household name as a great guitarist. Elliott Easton is the epitome of the most often-mentioned underrated guitarist. This makes him the guitarist most celebrated for his underrated-ness, the poster child of underrated guitarists. In the Cars Hall of Fame induction, he even said "I guess this means I'm finally rated."
Walsh rarely gets mentioned in "underrated" conversations. He's super-famous, he was in the freakin' Eagles, he played the solo (along with Don Felder) on "Hotel California" fer crissakes. Yet he remains under-mentioned in the pantheon of great guitarists. But he also seldom gets mentioned as underrated. This makes him the most underrated at being underrated guitarist.
Excellent work! Always loved this song. Interesting about the 10" speaker thing with a Telecaster guitar – your sound is spot on! Joe Walsh was recently playing in Stephen Cobert Late Show band – he rocked out and clearly still enjoys playing. Joe Walsh is one of my fav guitar players.
