Formed in 1969 by slide guitarist juggernaut Lowel George, disbanded after his death in ‘79 then revitalized in 1987, Little Feet combines George’s bandmate and co-writer Fred Tackett along with virtuoso Scott Sharrad in their new recording and touring lineup.
Tackett and Sharrad invited PG’s John Bohlinger to their soundcheck at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium to talk gear and tell classic stories of LF’s origin.

Scott Sherrod was absolutely the best pick for Little Feat..Been following Scott since he lead the Gregg Allman band..If you haven't seen his Band Of Gypsys & Laid Back tribute your missing out..He's extremely versatile & can handle any genre of music ( all the ones I like anyway)..Great interview, Thanks????
There is no little feat, barely even a tribute band, this tribute shit has to end.
‘Can’t wait to see Little Feat this summer in Grand Rapids!
Dixie Chicken lived on my turntable in 1973 and all their other albums lived close by…….GREAT Rig Rundown…..Fred Tacketts amp is somethin else!
Not many people have the chops to be in Little Feat but Scott Sharrard does!
Great interview Fred. Nice to see you out and about.
Worth noting the mic on Fred's Deluxe Reverb is a Roswell Mini K47. There is also a Roswell Mini K67 on Scott's Two-Rock on this tour. Great mics!
LOVE THAT JIMI BLACK STRAT STORY!
Used to jam with Tony S. who claimed to be Jimis cousin.
He also had a black one he claimed was Jimis.
He was the musical director of the Drifters in late 1999
I found a 66 complete original Deluxe reverb that I love playn a 50 s Strat thru. Fred is Soooo down to earth nice!
Growing up out here in western Oklahoma "Little Feet ” are absolutely legendary. Bol you do an incredible job on these. Everybody can tell how much you respect the players. It's in your every line. Don't ever stop. Either of you
The gentleman repeats twice that there are Wizz Pickups in the guitar, but he is not interested in that, there is nothing to ask him about it, and we all know that he knows and has heard of Wizz Pickups, but because it is not an American or English manufacturer, the character does not want them on purpose to mention, what a shame, really poor, shameful and obvious. You came to do a show with a guitarist and his guitars and then you don't ask him anything about the pickups he uses and we all know how important that is. This was really broken and disappointing!!!!
39:00 anyone understand what he’s trying to say about string gauges??
Scott is awesome
Fred seems like such a sweetheart!
Did you ask him what it was like to play with Dylan on the Slow Train Coming tour? One of the only questions that matters, really.
so together and sharp!
Bit like a tribute band these days????
Great band. Wish I could see them.
I’ll bet Fred has forgotten or can’t tell some of the best stories in music history.
No Lowell George, No Little Feat.
Could someone tell me the pickups in the burst and the red strats? Lace, EMG?
Little Feat will always hold a special place in my heart because a very long time ago when I was young they let me sit in the studio on Lankershim Blvd. and just listen. I was nobody, just some kid who was walking by the studio and heard music, which I loved and still do…
Damn, that Heritage sounds as good as any guitar I've ever heard
The little red pedal on Fred's board is a JHS Mini Bomb Boost
omg, that intro. The closest I've heard an electric sounding like an acoustic Dobro!
No2 pencils have the best tone IMO ..Little Feat is my all time favorite and so awesome that Scott has 'joined the band'. Actually saw this show at the Ryman! Woohoo!
Is that josh Scott with better hair?
Can't do bollinger.
He's an idiot.
Get rid of him.
Little Feat died when Lowell George did. This is not Little Feat
Ah, this was gold! Fred and Scott, such great players!
Man, what a great rig run down. This is one of my favorites.
