Aware of the spontaneity of inspiration, Miller believes in trusting your instinct when it comes to creating.

  • I'm not really into rap but I get the feeling mac miller was just a good dude, and I actually like his music though it's not my style, also I have a lot more respect for him after hearing him be good at several instruments too, take it easy brother

  • I miss Mac so much. He is one of the main reasons I even got into guitar, and I never thought I would take it so seriously.. It has become my life the past 7-8 years.. All my money goes to it as well as time lol. I come back to this video a lot, especially for his words on speaking through the instrument so many great guitarists mention. I truly feel that now. I've always been deep into music and hip hop since a child and being raised on it, but I was also always too scared to show my voice, or "sing" etc as I have a rather weak voice.. The guitar and piano completely changed that for me. The expression you can get through a guitar is insane, it really depends on the day, and it will be a journey in your mind and hands that can take you anywhere and express how you're feeling whether it is just simple jazz chords verbed out, to dark dark blues, or angsty punk chords. Everyday it can be something new and be a let-out of emotions and energy!

  • i never realized it until i played a dj set yesterday at blue slide park and heard a guitar part that sounded like one of these at the end of 100 Grandkids. i only heard it cause of how i used the filter cause the drums are so loud. all those subtle things you keep peeling back

  • Got a question for all the pros out there. What is the specific model Mac is playing on the video? Is it a Fender Tele Made in Japan Hybrid 2 Arctic White or is it a Fender Tele Player Polar White? Both are pretty similar and I've always wanted a Tele and would be rad to have the same he had.

  • I love watching him work. Because of him, i’m now going to school in LA to become a Music Producer myself. This man was a one of kind. Rest easy, Mac. You deserve it. Most Dope ✊????????????

  • “To speak better through their instrument better than they can in conversation” has been a quote I’ve come back to this video for for years now. I think about a lot of the stuff he says here a lot actually. I hate that I never listened to Mac much until after he died but he’s been such a musical inspiration that hopefully some day i can make music as good as his even if it’s just for the comfort of my own soul

  • The guitar he is playing is called the Fender Journeyman Relic Telecaster 1963. In my opinion one of the best telecasters Fender has ever made. Great sound, great feel, and easy to play. If anyone here plays guitar, you definitely need to add this beauty to your musical arsenal.

Mac was definitely one of a kind, he was an old soul for sure and he is greatly missed. Just have to say, the world wasn't ready for the fireworks. Rest in peace Malcolm.

  • Not sure if this makes me want to pick up a Fender Telecaster or some American Spirits, but man is Mac missed. Legend.

  • The reason I got into guitar and piano was bc of this man and Amy Winehouse. 2 artists gone way too soon ????????

  • My girlfriend is inlove with him…. I never listened to him until 2021 just didn’t think he was anything other than a typical 2010 era rapper which isn’t my style…. But riding in the car with her I’d constantly hear good songs and be like wait who’s this!? And it was always Mac Miller…. Now to see this and see how talented he was musically not just lyrically clever over someone else’s music I’m really disappointed I ate so many shrooms at the concert of him and wiz Khalifa or like him n kid cudi that obviously I can’t even remember who was on stage much less a single thing he performed
