"So i come around the backside"
moves camera away
Brother, thank you simplicity is key. I don’t know if I have vertigo or my left is right and right is left or if I’m just stupid but I have watched 100 videos and I always seem to get it wrong and no one ever said the word over under. I was winding it to where the slack string was coming loose. Just nonsense and Fuckery. But thank you you’re simplistic. Thank you. You are truly doing God’s work. Lol.
Really helpful video, what you do with the excess string tho, I know to cut it but do I have to tie it down or is it already tought enough that I can just cut it at the base?
It's the original locking tuner.
Just to be sure, does this work with any kind of guitar and bridge?
And why did the camera move and not show the string post during the most important part of the video?
Been restringing acoustics for 40 years. Never knotted a string and have never had tuning or slipping issues. I hate when my luthier ties knots. I wrap down from under the whole 3 times for EAD and 4 times for GBA. The tension pulling up against the string hole holds fine for me
How is any beginner suppose to understand this when you’re going so fast. Who are you trying to show off to? The camera guy?? Jesus
Lol I've been doing the luthiers knot for years, but your methods is way quicker than mine, thanks.
thank you for this super fucking “simple” tutorial where the camera pans away at literally every important part and causing me to break a string while restringing my guitar!
SLOW MO!!!
Thank you for the video, much simpler technique than I was using. I am on board!
Too fast. I'm American and can't comprehend fast instructions with or without with video.
camera looks away just as he's showing the technique lol.
I use a different method. I pull the slack out, align the string so it runs down the barrel of the tuner pointing at the face of the headstock and tighten the string so the wraps cover the string aligned with the barrel. I get four wraps on the low E trapping the string. If I have problems with differing brand of string, I wrap over once then under then over and repeat until I am close to the bottom of the barrel.
… can see a shit !
Too fast for newbies
Awesome! Thank you.
This is the best video in the Internet, ever.
Thanks!
Nice not showing the most important part on camera
Great that the tech got to show off how quick he is but it would have been more helpful if he slowed down so we can see.
im glad i finally caved and watched this
dude i had it completely backwards
way too fast.
Sir, may I ask a question, I’m a beginner and I’ve been playing acoustic guitar for more than one year now. I want to play an electric guitar. Please help me decide on what kind guitar I will buy, here are the list: 1) Yamaha Pacifica 012 HSS pickup, USD207. 2) Yamaha EG112GPII, HSH pickup, USD260 – with free GA15 amplifier 15w, Gig bag, strap, etc. 3) Severo Les Paul model electric guitar USD163.
You’re winding in different direction on both sides?
This is by far the best video I've seen on changing strings. Thanks!
I've always found four wraps around the peg is much better for fine tuning and stability. This is great for quick changes, like before a show/rehearsal/etc.
Thanks for the video. I did have to watch it a few times slowly to get it but I see it’s actually quite easy.
I was wondering how to do this because my restrings never look the way my luthier sets them up.
Master lothi
Poor camera work can’t see the last step oh well on to the next video
This method makes me happy when I look at my posts and windings. So… much… friction……
Tried this on my Irish zouk, worked like a charm, no more string slipping on A string, perfect!
obviously
good job moving the camera while he was showing something
Oh come on, really? Who doesn't know this? I learned this .07 seconds after getting a guitar. And a whole video for this? This just ain't video worth. The poster ought to reconsider their content. If I posted stuff like this, every little trick I know, it would fill youtube. It would take me years of videos to just scratch the surface.
fucking moron. The camera goes up when he does the only complicated step you need to see. what a fucking idiot.
Way to move the camera completely off subject right when he shows the one and only slow speed crucial first step. Useless video.
Too fast. Not sure exactly what you did. I wish i had a close upbof the winding part.
Only one wrap will it stay in tune I out 3 wraps
Them ACU bottoms doe
whats the point..cant see anything..too fast
I have been wrapping strings like that for 30 years and recently come to the conclusion you do not need to wrap and bend the string over. I do one wrap on top of the hole, then 2 more under and am getting the same results in tuning. And now when it's time to take the strings off its not all knotted up, comes right off. I don;t think pro guitar techs doing 5-10 guitars a night are putting a knot on top like that.
saved my life
cheers for the vid bro
Awesome!!! completely awesome. I've been winding strings totally wrong and slow as a snail for 30 years!
this method is bad because is putting bends on the string making it more likely to break
Broke new string doing this loving life
