Mastering the Iconic Goth Bass Sound: Tips & Techniques – Part 2, A Deeper Dive into Chorus
Dialing in chorus for a darker, dirtier sounding tone in goth, post-punk and deathrock ????????☠️
There isn’t one set way or method of setting pedals/eq to get a lovely goth bass tone, but there are some common elements. I’m covering a method that should get you in the ballpark, and will help you explore to suit your own tastes and needs!
Happy to answer any questions about setup or pedals!

Sisters of Mercy sound!! I prefer Fields of Nefilim sound!! All very cool though!!
Great explanations thank you very much. Peter
Thanks for the video! What order do you have your pedals in from guitar to amp?
The Low Filter on the CEB-3 doesn't cut low end out of the signal. It excludes low end from the chorus circuit only. The low end remains present in the sound you hear regardless. Fully counter clockwise is essentially all of the low end remaining unaffected, which translates to a sturdier sound and clearer fundamental. All the way clockwise is the whole signal being chorused.
I recently said, "F*ck it, I want to learn how to play bass."
Thank you, for these videos. They're helping out a ton. ????
