What are your tips for mixing Bass guitar? Share below
It's a high and a low pass filter. There is no Q value, but it looks like a 18db curve.
How does an amp sim factor into this layering? Would you use the sim on both channels, how would the settings differ if so?
I'd love to find some tutorials for Those of us who don't use DAWs or any computer BS
What frequency do u go for? 100?
This is exactly the piece of info I needed for mixing a demo. Seems to happen a lot with this channel.
Damn interesting ????
Suttle Saturation/distortion from the amp and clean low end genius idea
Pure gold, as always
Love that!
I separate the DI in 2 parts : a low pass and a high pass. The low pass gets a strong compression to get a consistent low end and the high pass gets a bit of distortion through the amp because I'm doing metal 🙂 This way I can control easily and intependently the amount of low end and the amount of distortion and dynamics.
????️♀️
What Q value do you use?
This is how allpass filters are made, with filter crossovers, but I think you can get a whole lot more control by making them this way.
Have you got the link to this full episode please?
Thanks Warren, wonderful technique that I use all the time, thanks to you. 🙂
What about phase distortion?
I usually put a bit more compression on the DI signal.
Workshop in shorts, keep them coming Warren ????
I remember this one from one of your videos in the past. I use it on every mix now. Great tip!
love these shorts!
I record electric bass with a analog chain, and can get satisfactory results with just the D I signal, but I always record a miked Fender Bassbreaker guitar amp and then blend the signals into the bass bus.
Smoke a bong first 🙂
