  • 7:29 you already know it's a pro video when the guy doing the review is using " Male Mode " on a Female Vocal ????

  • Oops, I bought Soothe 2 yesterday, then bought Silk today, not realising they are virtually the same.

  • That little slider on the right between threshold and output actually acts like an auto gain thing. If you pull down, the output goes up and vice versa

  • Why “Male” setting for female vocal? Is this the secret of this plugin? ????. I hv this plugin but I find its only good for rock, rap , just too much artifacts for soft vocal.

  • So… is Waves asking you guys to delete all comments saying some of us won't support a company with such a greedily awful bullyish update & install policy, AND that we're not OK with supporting an israeli cyber company, or are you doing it out of your own "good heart"??
So much for "community", as long as it's all praise and buy buy buy – what a disappointment, tsk tsk tsk!
    ????????‍♂️

  • Hi Warren, great video. I'll check out Silk and equator. Quick question: I just got in a stereo mix that has a section toward the end that has a synthesizer part that comes in at a super loud volume that totally blasts the rest of the mix, and then goes out again. Is there a plugin or technique that can solve this problem? Please let me know

  • I'm so grateful for this amazing plugin, which saved me so much time. Not only for vocals, I'm using it for the low end control as well. Thanks a lot for another amazing video, Warren! ✨????????

  • How has no one pointed out that the plugin is set to "Male" vocal instead of "Female"? Whoops.

  • Waves will be happy with you because I'll probably buy these along with others here. I don't have either and didn't know they even made equator. I don't keep up with things like I used to. I agree with your taste, the breath, over the top. That stuff is interesting at first but wears the listener down rather fast. Also, the heavy breaths distract from the whole. You wind up hearing all that heavy breathing and something else begins to come to mind. ???? Just an opinion. Don't get mad, lol.

  • The best thing about this video is you modeling critical listening. It's so ingrained in you and your ears are so well trained that it's a reflex for you. Watching you teaches me how to listen better. You are a fantastic teacher! (And take it from me, I've been a college professor for 20 years.)

  • If you consider the amount of fantastic-sounding vocals that have been recorded in years/decades past when none of these plug-ins existed, surely we must reach a point where we have to say: 'if I just record the vocal right in the first place, then compression and EQ – even those plug-ins that are 20 years old – must surely be capable of achieving the desired result. Any great-sounding recording can only be that: good source material, good eq and compression. I'm pretty certain EVERYONE has the plug-ins already in their DAW to achieve fantastic results.

  • Half way through, so still time to click the arrow button on the bottom right to get into more controls. I too got the live silk.

  • i was one of the lucky 10000 people who got silk vocal for free on black friday last year. best thing to have ever happened to me. ive used it so much now that its made me better at hearing resonant frequencies

  • Cheers Warren! I use Silk also w/ Joe Chicarelli preset so far so Good. Just depends on the Singer like we say. ????????????????????

  • It's a great tool! I really like what it did to the vocals.

Warren! You were using the plugin on the Male setting lol. Also, the control between the dynamic section and output is a gain compensation tool! So if you use that to adjust the dynamics it will adjust the output at the same time. ????
