Modern Cliff Burton Tone Test / Replication – Metallica Bass Guitar

Had some disposable income so have decided to chase some of the old Cliff Burton tones with more or less modern equipment bar a few items (namely the CS-2 and the bass guitar itself)

Entire signal chain from fingers to monitor speakers are listed below:

– Fernandes BXB-55 Bass Guitar, 4 Strings – Passive Dog Fighter pickups
– Rotosound Swing 66 30-95 Bass Strings
– BOSS Compression Sustainer CS-2 – 9v Zinc Carbon Battery – Level 5, Attack 7, Sustain 5
– Morley Power Fuzz Wah Classic PFW2 – 9v Zinc Carbon Battery – Wah Level 5, Intensity 7, Fuzz Level 8
– Ibanez TS-9 Tube Screamer – 9v Zinc Carbon Battery – Drive 8, Tone 7, Level 7
– Morley Buffer Boost – 9v Zinc Carbon Battery – Level 7
– Radial Pro 48 Active Direct Box with Ground Lift and Pad enabled
– Scarlett 2i4 interface, no pad, instrument level
– Helix Native with the following stereo chain played simultaneously to mimic his live dual Mesa 180 setup

Channel 1: Host – D-400 Channel 2 Preamp – 6×10 Mesa Powerhouse Cab – 10 Band EQ – Host
Channel 2: Host – D-400 Channel 1 Preamp – 6×10 Mesa Powerhouse Cab – 10 Band EQ – Host

Settings for Helix Native are all visible in the video

Have an Ibanez HD1500 on the way so I’ll have an update video once I get that dialled in to chase the Lyceum tone
