so when the se swamp ash dropped in 23, i managed to trade a guy out of one. About 3wks later a good buddy who owned a 2001 ce22 and a 08 standard satin22 fell in love with the sas. i had as well. He then offered to trade me the ce strait up!!! AMAZING curly maple top and players grade. i can tell you the ce from 97- 2003 ARE exactly as you stated. core model with bolt on neck. the tops on them wld be 10 top by todays standards. So yeah get one!!! they can be had for not much more than you paid allready. dragon2 pups too!!

Your videos are always fantastic! I wanted to see what you thought of the CE-24 as I just got the same guitar in a blue. I love it an am so proud of it being a real PRS! I want a core but just a bit out of the price range right now. However I am watching Reverb for one I like. Do you think the best buy is the Custom 24 or is a 24-08 ok or Piezo? I really like that Cherry Cola (or whatever it's called color). Thanks man.

Hi Jay,… always love your videos and this is no exception! I have a set of Dragon II's that came stock in my 06 Custom 22 … a lot of folks bag on them,… but they're incredible!! Maybe consider changing one of those 85/15 sets with a set of Dragon II's and you'll expand your PRS Sonic library of tones !!

PRS is one of those brands that make exceptional guitars but for some reason I just can't get into them. They're gorgeous, well built, they play great, and sound great. I just don't feel the same wild inspiration with them as I do with a ratty old kramer. I do love looking at them though, my local shop has a ce with a top that is spectacular. I can't say I haven't thought about it.

Would you recommend it for a first semi-hollow guitar? I just got my first PRS last year when I saw you play the swamp ash version and the pick-up wiring needs some work but I really like the craftsmanship. Wouldn't mind checking one out as a semi-hollow, but Gretsch seems to be the first stop for most players. Hope you're having a rocking 2025, Jay!
Those Black Satin Pattern Thin necks on the CE 24 PRS are amazing . So comfortable and easy to play. I snagged a PRS CE 24 Semi-Hollow 2022 Whale Blue Burst with Satin Neck on a Reverb for a steal price new a few years back and it's great! If you want to try a PRS that might be the hidden gem in the PRS lineup…. check out the PRS S2 Vela Semi-Hollow Satin. Great "Pattern Regular" neck, light as a feather and some really versatile pickups for any genre of music! Nice one Jay!
