  • i do not know why, but the way John looks, reminds me of drones from Star Wars, the ones that "roger, roger" :)) no trying to be rude/offensive i have only big respect for John Myung, it is just kinda funny to me)

  • This AI John Myung is amazing, happy for all the interview production teams as now they don't have to spend huge budgets on CGI John like it has been all these years

  • I quit bass in 2008 and the last song i worked on learning was Dark Eternal Night.

18 years later, completely hooked on Parasomnia i ordered myself a 6 string bass. Its time to put the guitar down and learn from the maestro.

  • Poor John. He seems so uncomfortable doing interviews. If they could make the bass speak words i'm sure he would be the most well spoken person on the planet.

  • I think this is the first time I’ve heard Myung talk at length. He’s a literal legend but seems like a sincere and humble guy. People like this are who I aspire to be.

  • I must admit I don't buy the whole two-tone wood "EQ" stuff, the wood has absolutely no impact on the sound.

  • "I'd have to pick up the bass…"

Would you please stop telling him not to hold his bass in interviews and promotions? I get it. I do. But stop it.

  • I was 14 years old when Pull Me Under was debuted on MTV. I still vividly remember watching the video and thinking "omg this is what I've been waiting for." I started playing guitar at around 13 and what I was hearing is what I was imagining in my head as the perfect band that I wanted to be in.

I completely forgot to even look at their name and song info. I didn't have MTV at home… a while later I asked a dude I met with vague descriptions if he knew who I was taking about. I needed to find that band. He said, "Sounds like you're talking about Dream Theater. I have a tape." He copied the tape but it was Awake. It was awesome and it sounded like them but wasn't what I remembered. A week later when I got paid I went and bought awake. A month later my brother found Images and surprised me with it. I had no clue they even had another album. When Pull Me Under came up I was like, "THAT'S IT! THAT'S THEM!" ????

We eventually got MTV and saw the video. The imagery I explained matched so he was like, "They really were that band you were on a quest to find!" I said, "I know! I told you that when we first heard it. "

  • My favorite bassist is actually talking again on a small channel that I now have to sub. Nothing new under the sun. ????

  • No way an actual interview and 20 minutes ????. This guy is a good interviewer made John feel comfortable

  • I think that John is painfully shy and struggles to express himself vocally in front of camera. I can imagine he's quite difficult to have a conversation with…even privately. Despite all of this, he is an amazing bassist. I just wish his bass sound wasn't quite so distorted….this sound tends to get lost in the mix, either on the record or live
