New Fender MonoNeon Jazz Bass V Unboxing and Full Review | This thing is NUTS!!!

Everyone who is into basses and/or people that can hold a tight groove knows who Mono Neon is. He plays unconventionally and has a sound that is all his own. Don’t get it confused though he is a bass player so his natural pocket grooves are solid when he not out in front soloing. From avant-garde to southern soul to funk and all notes in-between, MonoNeon’s astounding musical range, tone and taste are always on full display. He collaborated with Prince, recorded Making a Movie with Ne-Yo, and won a Grammy for Best Rap Album with Nas. Needless to say this bass has to check all the boxes… And after playing it…i think it does.

Like, Subscribe and comment but most importantly SHARE AND HIT THE BELL so you can know when the next video will be uploaded. So till next time….Be easy. If you care to get to know the guy behind the bass check out my second channel. I put all the other stuff i like to do on that one.

  • Great bass. I have one and I love it. Sonny T had one on tour as his backup on the Cory Wong tour. It was a hoot to see it on a stand on stage. By far the brightest thing there – like a beacon. Wish I could add a pic here. Great review – love watching your videos. Thorough and the joy and personality come through. What pedals are you using at the end, if you don’t mind?

  • Something's up with the sound, no? Sounds like reverb all the way and in scoop seeting some weird glitchy filter sounds (11:50). This was not DI sound was it?

  • As always a very detailed review appreciate the honest review sounds amazing also love that mid-range tone liking the fact that you Identify some of the songs that you play. Appreciate the fact that you talk about if the bass is neck heavy or not. Keep up the awesome reviews.

  • Nicest Fender bass ive ever played ,thin neck ,growl for days but with bottom ,those humbuckers and pre amp kill ,had one for a month my only problem was the weight , im old (65) and wearing 10.3 pounds on me for 4 hour gigs just didnt work with a bad back and neck otherwise it'd be my main axe…….not the same old yawn from Fender ….new modern sound , modern feel ,most comfortable Fender bass neck ive ever played …winner winner

  • I just played one of those at a Guitar Center about two weeks ago and instantly fell in love with it. There is something about a 22 fret bass that just works somehow. The combo of inlays, two humbuckers, and the upper access cut is really nice. The very obvious Side Position Marker Dots really help too.

  • I STAY wanting one of these. Orange is my favorite color ever and yellow is my girl’s favorite so its kinda perfect, so when i cop it without checking budget, ill say it reminded me of how perfect we mesh ????????????

  • G string looks really close to the edge of the fretboard compared to the B, leading me to think either the bridge or neck is misaligned, or is it just the angle in the video?

  • This bass reminds me of the Roscoe Beck signature Jazz that came out in the late 1990s.
I'm pretty sure that one had splitter switches for the pickups.
My current bass is a Samick Artist Series 5 string with a P/J configuration and the hum problem on the bridge Jazz pick up. If I roll my tone back, it tends to hide it a little.

  • Great to see Fender doing something fresh – not a quiet bass – I am talking about just looking at it. Good to see the reviewers smile which probably says as much about the bass as the words.

  • If I got this i would change it from a vol/blend control to vol/vol and the have each push/pull to coil tap. Lastly add a tone control stack on the mid control like the ultra series. Crap I started building it in my head. Just might buy one now.
