Green Muffin
Rumor has it the Morning Glory has a Tone City in Bluesman inside of it! Nice going Josh!!!????????
For those just tuning in 2 years+ on, the matcha cream is a match to the green russian big muff which is why it sounds slightly different from the og.
Out of tune
Well I instantly just went and bought a Bluesman; sounds spot on here!
Mickey and Matcha Cream (when pitted against the WH) were the closest to my ears. I didn't think the Blues Man sounded identical to the JHS MG, but regardless, it might become my favourite pedal. Bought it two months ago and it's been an "always on" pedal for me since (I just like the way it breaks up, and the way its EQ'd, I can get anything from soulful 60s / 70s tones to black metal with it :-).
YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE MOOFF!!!
These are 1:1 pedals.
WHERE CAN I BUY THIS MAGICAL BOX OF NO CONSEQUENCE
I have to say that these Tone City pedals are really appealing for a lot of reasons. Of course the price is fabulous and that makes them super accessible even to someone who isn’t able to or doesn’t want to spend a ton on pedals. But I really like the relative simplicity of each one, the size, and the lighted knob. I mean come on they are just cool and inexpensive. What’s not to like? I especially like that Bluesman but I’ve watched a lot of the other videos you’ve done with many of their pedals and the Angel Wing and Sweet Cream are the other two that always catch my attention.
With some other comparisons i mostly think, hey you gotta hear it's barely close. But this is actually scary. Great value for money.
I've got a Nobleman coming in the mail tomorrow and I gotta say that the look on Lee's face at every setting change reaffirms that I made a solid choice. Thanks guys!
This mini pedal madness is awesome. I use these pedals more than my keeley BD2, keeley 808 and Royal Flush. Mooer Blues Crab (must have) is 99% Marshall Blues breaker pedal also, even cheaper! There is a YouTube video with a dude tripping out at how Blues Crab sounds the same side by side with original blues breaker. Tone City and Mooer are f'ing awesome.
How about Big Milf?
What I want is that tele.
Does the Nobleman's tone knob do the same thing as the ODR-1's spectrum control, ie a double filter, sweeping down the low mids and highs below 12 O'clock (leaving a mid bump) and elevating them above 12 O'clock (leaving a scoop)? Or is it just a normal treble/bright control?
You guys just saved me a bunch of money- they sound identical. The tone snobs are having a fit about it to- I love reading their comments, insisting they heard a difference and reminding us of the various extras on the more expensive pedals. True- the JHS has two gain stages, the ODR1 has a bass cut switch (if you buy the right model)- but I hardly think these tiny extras justify paying 150-200 bucks more for the pedals- sorry, Tone City still wins.
Sound wise they are all spot on, but there is more to consider when looking at pedals – jack placement, power input placement, on/off light, even the feel of the switch. As someone who plays live often these factors are important. For example I have a small mod pedal that has chorus flanger phaser etc, the knob to change effects is too close to the switch so it’s easy to move by accident when turning it on an off. That being said these pedals sound great. Could probably tape down the knob in the middle although that’s also the indicator light
Dear Lee, dear Andertons, I came to notice that your copy of the "Mickey" (as it is labeled now) spells "Micky", which happens to be my name. So I am asking myself if you still have hold on this prototype and if you would sell it to me, please. ;o)
It's where the Tone Monkeys live…..
I hate tone city! Over the years I have spent soooo much money and soooo much time putting my ideal pedalboard together then these guys roll up and do it for a fraction of the price and a friction of the space and they sound amazing. Where were these guys 20 years ago? Could haver saved me a fortune. Ok, love tone city. No hard feelings. Just keep new pedals coming and i will keep buying. CHEERS!
Minutes 13:45…When a LITTLE made you LAUGH and HAPPY….Just BUY that Little Pedal 🙂
,????????????????????????????????????!!!Tone City is awesome ????????????????
Holy shit Adam!
The reason the big muff sounds less like the matcha cream than the others is because you’re comparing the wrong big muff. The matcha cream is a clone of the green Russian big muff
Other than the EQ or volume etc being at slightly different levels then couldn’t even tell when they switched between them most of the time. Tone City are amazing. If I started over again with pedalboard build I would be going for a lot of their gear – can’t wait to build my sons pedal board. He just needs to be old enough to play!
If I didn't own all the gain pedals I need id be right on these. Maybe I should just sell my name brand ones and get a tone city clone..
I wonder what amp are they using? Sounds great with the Nobles!
I was expecting something decent or at least ok…WHAT! is something I've already said many times. Wow. Got me counting my change jar
r yall sure the green moof is not copying the russian big muff
I vote a "Bit Miffed"
Beware this man conveniently call himself “ROB” is a known con and very famous for selling snake oil
You can build a nice tone city bored for half the price of the “real” pedal
I need a shot out on the green muff and the Micky
The People Have Spoken & We Want More Rob!!!
I recently purchased a nobles odr1 and returned it because it's either got nothing or too much distortion there's no between.
Plus it's cheap plastic.
2 ordered.
Ordered the Mickey for my bass 🙂
Amazing tones!! Great job mates!
I applaud thee Tone City ???????? ???????? ????????
Got the Nobleman yesterday and my oh my what a great pedal! Couldn't be happier with it. Sounds amazing
I'd still buy the Nobels ODR-1 because you can put a battery in it.
Thanks Rob for that Wayne's World moment at 3:21 !! 😀
I have a pretty good ear I think, do quite good when I do the blindfold challenges along with you guys. For these pedals, on most of them I can hear a DIFFERENCE, however, like with many digital and/or less expensive products recreating classic tones, that difference is not a difference that makes one better or worse. They all retain the qualities that make each legendary pedal so desirable in the first place, it's just the little garnishes on the side that change.
And yet, as much as I know this…. I will continue buying more expensive pedals, for a variety of reasons. That said, these days I never assume a cheaper pedal is worse, and still buy them sometimes.
As with pickups, people are not really buying the tone with a premium US made product, they are buying social status. The advertising and bells & whistles are all part of the product.
Of course you are not meant to say the above and some get legitimately upset when you do.
I wondered who that meaty paw belonged to, Chappers!
