Next Level Blues Chords! (boost your 12-bar rhythm guitar playing)
Take your 12-bar blues guitar form to the next level by changing up the chords you play. These chords extensions will add greater variation to your rhythm playing, and a touch of jazz. Also, these chords are essential to get to know as they do appear in lots of famous songs, such as T-Bone Walker’s and The Allman Brothers “Stormy Monday.”
Combine the chords with some minor pentatonic soloing and you have a great sequence you can use when playing with jam tracks, with a band, or just on your own.
Guitar lessons from Vancouver teacher Blue Morris shows you how to play these chords and apply them to the 12-bar blues form.

thank you
Thankyou , you are fantastic ,
Thnk you!! This is what m looking for
You are a real master. Thank you
You're correct when you said that theory sounds like a lot of garbally goop. I've been playing for over 50 years and don't read music or understand the difference between a 5th and a 9th or any of that theory. Seems like a very confusing way to learn how to play. Just learn the shapes and play whatever sounds good. There are many famous guitar player who never learned to read music.
Excellent video. Thank you for taking the time to teach us.
Awesome sounds great , Thankyou
So good!
A message to the younger players out there. As a guy who's been playing for well over 30 years, but never took the time to learn the real theory behind this all….listen to this guy and take it all in. He's doing a fantastic teaching job. GREAT VIDEO.
“Mmm sweet.” I laughed out loud at that in excitement. What an epic lesson. Thanks so much for this ???? Looooong time metal guitarist trying to start learning blues from scratch ???? ????????
Wow, this is what I call a great lesson. Subscribed! Best wishes from Spain!
You might wanna give out a rhythm count or explain your timing for people who don't know how to count your changes
Thanks , awesome lesson , earned yourself a subscriber
How are these dominant 9th chords if the 3rd is absent? Formulas keep saying that the 3rd must be present. This is confusing. I noticed the flat 7 but no 3rd.
Thank you so much, That middle of the neck 9 chord ties in all of my other blues chord's like a champ for chordal shape walks, my missing ingredient ties it all together. The lead shapes make it almost impossible to hit a bad note. keep these video's coming. I've been playing for decades and teach. Your one of the best teachers. Hats off young man. Gypsy jazz on the way. Cheers.
Exactly the info I was looking for. Thank you.
Great lesson, thank you!
