So, yes, it’s a guitar amp. Or more specifically, you can use the Noggin Rockers device on any stringed instrument. The underlying principle remains the same – no matter where you go, where you are or where you want to use this product, you will never require to be connected to a power source or use batteries.
So, how does the Noggin Rockers work then? Well, think of your doctor’s stethoscope. It’s the same thing. You put in the two earbuds which are connected to the tubing. The tubing is attached to the diaphragm which essentially is your pick-up or microphone for the lack of a better term. This part is then connected to your guitar, pretty much anywhere your want. However, keep in mind that depending on the position of the diaphragm, you can play around with sound coloration and volume. Oh, changing the position of the diaphragm is easy via the Velcro pad technology.
The Noggin Rockers guitar amp produces a remarkable sound quality. I was honestly very surprised and so was everybody else I showed the device to. In my Noggin Rockers video review, I was unfortunately not able to give you a 100% authentic idea of how well it sounds and how loud it is. But trust me, it works very well.
The Noggin Rockers mini amp is very affordable and a great alternative to the more pricey Vox amplugs for instance. That said, we are comparing apples to oranges here. The amplugs cost more, but also have more to offer. However, they obviously need batteries – and the whole point of the Noggin Rockers is to not rely on any power source.

Anybody tried to use on a gig?
Good product….but, for crying out loud, not one guitar sound till 8 min 35 sec into the video!
so it's the sound that you would hear out of an actual amplifier but through the tubing?
So smart !
it's basically an engineered medical stethoscope. very cool!
