NUX Mighty Space Practice Amplifier Review: The Spark Killer! ????

The NUX Mighty space is not only a fully-functional practice amplifier but it has the ability to go out to an extension speaker cabinet! Is the NUX Mighty Space better than the Positive Grid Spark? It’s got one feature that will blow it out of the water! This is my review and test of the Nux Mighty space practice amplifier.

  • This sounds ridiculously good. Let me know what you think! Once the amp is widely available early in 2023, you can find it here. Lemme know what you think! ????

  • Poor review. I don’t want to hear it through your amazing speaker. Pointless ????

  • great video but one doub::: between this MIGHTY SPACE n the NUX MG30 which is better for recording demos at home?? I"ll appreciate someone reply me =)

  • People must not value the wireless dongle; the foot switch, the looper or the power cab output this has that the Spark does not have. Oh, and the rechargeable battery a big add on to me.

Seems as though these add ones justify the increased price.

  • I don't think its worth it is $289 at Artist guitars by the time you buy a speaker cab your getting into the mustang range like the, lt40, lt50, Boss katana 50, and the GTX50 which is fender sweet spot for a practice Amp especially the GTX50 & Boss Katana 50 is hard to beat

  • Can I connect a pedal (such as HX One) to this? I love this for what it is but if I could get Helix sounds through it, wow!

    Reply
  • How does this compare to the Boss Katana air and Yamaha desktop amps?

Seems to me that there are so many tone choices it’s ridiculous… once you start to cycle through them they all start to sound the same ????????‍♂

Is looper (60 secs) usable or a gimmick?

  • What nobody tells you, and also the manual misses it: you can use BOTH inputs (wireless transmitter / cable) in parallel, so teaching my son guitar was never easier!

  • Greetings from Mexico!

Does it reduce its power output when operating on battery power, similar to the Yamaha THR?

I couldn’t find any details about this so your input would be greatly appreciated

  • What kind of butterscotch tele is that? USA, MIM – vintera/roadworn 50s?…..sounds really good! I once owned a positive grid spark and was really impressed but i think the NuX has dominated the spark!!!

  • Its better than the Spark, but its $500 and the Spark is $224 right now. Big difference

  • Hi.
I saw your video and ordered the mighty space. I wrote down your settings and saved it in the mighty space. Sounds good with internal speakers.
Now i'm thinking about to buy a 10 or 12 cabinet (like you tested). Do i have to deactivate the IR's? And how to do this? I hope you answer me.
    Greatings Michael

  • Hi there…..Does it have Chorus Flanger Delay and Reverb and Distortion…………Thanks.

  • Another HUGE thing the nux does that none of the sparks do…in the nux you can move the effects to different places..such as in front of or behind the amplifier…you can not do that in the spark

  • Could speaker out go straight to powered mixer if balanced the output down to prevent overdriving the pa.? Acoustic application.

    Reply
  • Sounds poor with acoustic guitars that have under saddle pickups. NUX has been no help with IR options that fix this problem or even how to load new IRS.

    Reply
  • Doesn't adding a Distortion pedal in front of the amp kinda highlight the inadequacies of the onboard effects?

  • A lot more options on the back than thr Spark 40 I own plus foot switch and the wireless transmitter all make for a hard to beat package. I had to watch this video again. There's a sunami of guitars, amps, pedals and gear rushing into my house. I fear I will be swept away soon forced to practice on the roof. But like your channel, I can't stop watching it. All things aside, your guitar playing is outstanding. Also I love when you review guitar stores especially here in the States like Randy's guitar attic. ???? keep them coming Shane. Well done indeed.

  • Just got it
Sound wise well for awhile it sounded like the spark muddy noooooo
But tweaking it kinda got away from that thank goodness
Can’t really crank up distortion every thing bellow less than 3/4 is good or more at least for high gain
Some settings like you said speakers start to flubber when going up it volume / as a Bluetooth speaker
Sound quality when playing music or backing tracks is ok thought it would be better
But overall happy with the mighty space
But ya the price point is a bit high 100$ less would be more on par
Haven’t tried with a cab yet
    Build quality is A one
    But overall it’s a keeper

  • Won't be a Spark killer if it's costing more than the Spark. It will cut into sells of others though. Maybe Boss will raise its game now.

    Reply
  • Seems the problem is the price. So you have to be careful to compare it to other amps of the same price.

  • are you using your phone to change tones? The app on your phone? And a favorite band Blu tooting also

  • Dang….might have to sell my Yamaha THR10 II and VOX AC15 and get this and a cab for home use

  • Looks like a great amp, does everything including making you breakfast. Good for you using mic rather than line out like so many reviewers do, BUT nice it has speaker out, but this ought to be an amp review, not an amp and external speaker review IMO. I once hooked a Vox AC-1 to a JBL PA speaker and that sounded decent, but as a review it would be useless. Unless NUX gives free external speaker, stick with what was in the box, please

  • Another outstanding review Shane! It sounded really good through the seventy 80. How do you think it would sound with a Texas Heat or Vintage 30?

    Reply
  • After watching your review I just got mine!! At 64 I only play in my home and none of the expensive tube combos I went through are effective at volume 2! I kept going back to my Roland Micro Cube and honestly it sounded better at the don't piss off wife volume. Bought Spark 40 and liked it but endless options and overly complicated adjustments. NOW, this little thing is WONDERFUL! Same modeling ability as the Spark but so much simpler and intuitive. Based on your review I also ordered a 12" celestion cab. When I plugged that in….HOLY FING COW! Finally I have the PERFECT amp setup for my music room. It will certainly punch you in the stomach with the cab! Thanks, thanks thanks for the review!

  • Must sound really good "in person" judging from your "Stank Face" while playing the demo. In your opinion, which you do prefer, the Mighty Air or the Spark. Any chance for a "head to head" comparison in the future? I am wanting to downsize in my "Golden Years", don't gig any more, and just mainly play at home. So something like this would suit me better than the amps I currently use. Primarily running a Hot Rod Deluxe III with attenuator and have a Digitech Trio+ and backing tracks for playing. This one might be the answer I'm looking for but need more info before I take the plunge. Help a Brother out here Shane! PS as always great review Cheers!!
