  • I bought the Elf bass head 3 years ago. It's more than sufficient for a hall or a small venue. I don't need to open up the volume past 9 o'clock, it's so loud. Haven't had the chance to play in a big stadium tho, can't comment on it????. It's small, light, portable, fits in any bag to carry it. That compressor works smoothly, can feel it real good ????????

  • I ain't gonna lie, this thing sounds so lively and clear that I like it better than the modeled "classics" IR's currently available today. Reminds me of the great Peavey innovation of the mid-90's. So, so great. Thank you for the wonderful video ????

  • I've owned and used the Elf for years. It is sturdy and powerful and produces a truly beautiful variety of multi-layered tones. I have traveled with it abroad along with the equally light and compact Trace Elliot 1x 10" cabinet and it has never failed me. My colleagues are continually surprised by the sound this little guy produces. I also use it in my home studio. I couldn't be happier with this product. It is also a great choice for a backup amp for bigger gigs. Tremendous product!

  • O wow! Is there any way i could take the compressor that I already have and make it impossible to control as well?

  • The Elf is an amazing amp….that thing just sounds great.
I gotta say though….Fred Poole could be one of the best product presenters in the business.

  • I've had one for about 4 years and have it plugged into a Trace Elliot 2×8 cabinet in my bedroom for practice. I know it would work great in a small gig environment as well. Love it!

  • If you can get a 200w power amp in that small a form factor if repurposed without the compressor and preamp this would kill the Seymour duncan powerstage, orange pedal baby, etc in the market

  • This is exciting. It’s basically a DI box with eq that can also power a speaker. I just have to get over the color.

  • Love my Trace Elliot ELF, it is a great small gig or home amp with a 2×10 cabinet. Works great with extended range basses and even upright electric basses for lots of different genres and styles.

  • Yeah it's great for what it was designed for, but what about the classic TE models? why they're still discontinued? it's a whole market you're losing out there Peavey, don't be like Fender with SWR

  • I have to say that I love the Elf amp. It has that "old school 80s" Trace sound of my 80s and 90s amps. It's a powerful little beast, especially when you run two separate cabs. I'm running mine with a 300w 1×15 and it sounds fab.

  • £220 or thereabouts in the UK – which is a heck of a good price.

It's been around a while but good products do tend to hang around ^^

  • Have had one since the first year they came out and love it for rehearsal sessions and gigs. Yes, it has plenty-o-power. Sounds fantastic through a pair of the elf 2×8’s, too! Hoping to see 500watt units and also, 15” and 12” cabs, eventually.

  • Please make these with the ability to do automatic, international voltage switching for touring and I'll immediately buy it.

  • I have a Transit B, it's very good. A powered bass cab designed for it would be great!

Back in the day, I had a GP12SMX. I still have my Dual Compressor pedal, and my favorite: Trace Elliot MP11 and it sounds as good as ever.

I hope you can do more to recapture the magic that was once Trace Elliot – the Transit B certainly does!

  • Can this really supply the current? I guess it must be class D, how does it deal with lower impedance?

  • ok.as a guitarist in jams and sessions ive been dominating marshall 4x12s using an aer amp one 200w 1×10 bass combo. its tiny and FAT sounding. especially with fuzzes it KILLS. bringin that low end they often produce out unimpressed, while guitar preamps often squish out an the fuzz "dissapears.
been looking for a small bass amp to run a cab to have a stereo rig. but WHY have you decided to make the compressor not switchable? sad. looks like the perfect fit.

  • Would have loved an SPL meter somewhere in the room, easy to say that we can “feel the power” when listening to clean line level… 200 watts for 8 10” speakers seems alright but I would have loved to hear a cab tone and see an actual volume reference
