That’s an extensive signal chain
The question isn’t whether they sound perfectly exactly the same…the question is whether or not you hear $200 worth of difference between the two. Cause I don’t. I got the Behringer for $30, solid purchase.
Just picked up a TS808 ???? In this video, both sound too similar to say one is the hands-down winner. Why did I pick the TS808? Because it looks like it can take a lot more abuse and I'm not very gentle on my pedals lmao. The feel of greater durability was the selling point for me. You could fiddle with the knobs on both and get very similar sounds, similar enough that at a gig and in a mix, only the most trained eara could tell the difference. Rock on ????
Nothing beats the original, but I have to admit, the Behringer held its own. The only thing I noticed was a bit more noise when the Behringer was engaged. I have the Behringer Super Fuzz and LOVE it! Think I might just have to pick one of these up too, since the Ibanez TS 808 is so expensive these days.
Behringer sounds better, less nasal and more transparent. You don't have to pay lots to get a great sound but if you want to go ahead lol
what are you doing with yo life if you haven't grabbed this for $20???
wow, amazing playing bro.
transients are smoother on TS, also TS has more low mid wooliness. I often turn the tone on that behringer down for kinda warm silky tone
Behringer pedals rock!
Cool! ????????
The TO800 sunds better to me: less muffled / clearer than than the TS.
I think it would cut through better in a mix & live situations too.
I've got it.. They sound different yet the circuits are the same, almost…. Here's why, they both have buffers, neither is true bypass. Swap them around the other way you should get the same differences in reverse.. Worth a try..
The circuits are not quite the same.. The Behringer T0800 circuit is an exact copy of the original Ibanez Black tube screamer which is rare and goes for big bucks.. Ask Josh Smith… He will tell you the same thing…… Don't underestimate the Behringer T0800.
Big difference – newer one sounds better
Behringer more open sound, TS more transparent. Equally good.
I love that kind of vidéo,,, i have no money,so, it make me feel happy,,, thanks à lot
It isn’t worth 200 dollars more than the behringer. At least not for the sound.
the Behringer is an amazing pedal. sounds better than my Boss SD1. Takes a battery, which is something you never get on cheaper pedals
The Behringer sounds just as good to me. I wish I knew before I spent about the same amount on the Amazon special rebranded nux pedal. ????
The TS808 sounds smoother and warmer. The Behringer is great for $20 but if money were No object I would go for the Tube Screamer.
The difference is minimal, I love Behringers, people complaint about the plastic but heck, just buy two and you're still uinder $50 usd!! In fact, you can buy 3 or even 4 Behr's for the price of one single Boss, it's a no brainer. And I have yet to see a Behringer break.
Sounded exactly the same to me. Great video ! Thanks!
Thanks for the helpful video!
I'm surprised at how close they sound. I think perhaps the Ibanez is just a hair better in terms of tone and probably more durable but for bedroom pickers like myself the Behringer seems like a great buy.
Behringers lack a bit mid/highs I find buy get the graphic too. Still cost you nothing
Always loved behringer. My first pedal was their tuner which cost me £17. Everyone always says they are bad because they’re made of plastic yet I’ve never heard of one breaking.
i agree with johnny down below the behringer did sound more bitey and had more of a boost to it and for alot less money plus i like the design a little better and i hate t hat square metal button l prefer the metal smaller switches so for t he price its a steal only thing i wish behringer would at least start putting the pedals in a metal housing instead of cheap platic as long as you dont go stomping on themto hard. check out joyo to thats the direction behringer should be going smaller casing but made of metal instead of plastic.
Why is it that most people who do overdrive demos always avoid going all the way up with the overdrive level? Datz what we want to hear. Well, at least one key factor. You don't have to prove what an authentic roots rocker you are. Just crank that bad boy up and let us decide if we want to go all the way up with it or not.
