I'm thrilled to announce that due to the overwhelming response to this video on pinched harmonics, I'll be hosting a live stream. Join me on Thursday, July 11th, 2024, at 9:00am Pacific Time for an interactive lesson on pinched harmonics. ???????????? Set your reminders and see you there! https://youtube.com/live/mK1ru4LjGtc ????????????
picked this up in probably 7 minutes.
Thats the comfortably numb solo isnt it
Thanks finally i got it . If anyone cant do it try up the gain to max
Makes absolutely no sense brother ????????????
Broooo this was so helpful. I’m laughing at how simple this was because I’ve been trying to figure out how to do this for 3 months now. ????????????
Is this dependent on the tone/distorsion/gain used? Because I can almost never get it to work.
Do i need my amps gain/volume at a high setting for this? Also whenever i try to it makes a small harmonic sound but the note still plays alongside it
Great tutorial. It remains to be seen on my guitar.. If I'm not overtly mistaken, I guess the construction and position of humbuckers also matters.. Am I right?
I have a guitar I don’t know how to do this I’m doing the same this shit fake
Finally !!! Thank you very much, it was that easy!!! I wasted 6 hours with other videos but yours is nails it, I can do it more consistently now, thanks again
maybe im the problem
Wow! This man knows how to save the viewers time! God bless him!
Thanks
Your video was 2 minutes AND 4 seconds. liar……
First time I did it, it actually worked! The only tutorial that actually worked for me.
Put your pick in 7th position????
I neglected pushing on the string harder
Finally I can understand it now time to cover magbalikable
i still dont get it at all..how lol
ALL ITS F****ING DOING IS MUTING IT!!!!!!!
I kept trying but I can't do it:( either it sounds normal or i just mute it with my thumb
I try doing it but my thumb just mute it????
im still so confused
i keep on just muting my strings on accident ???? got any tips?
Cannot do it.
Think ive finally got them to work, the sort of "push in" explanation makes way more sense then the "hurgle burgle grace with your thumb" crap where id put my thumb right on rhe edge and it was horrifically uncomfortable
this is probably the hardest musical skill on the planet
i only hear a buzz
Best lesson. Direct to the topic ????
Yeah no luck with any tutorials whatsoever. Found the sweet spot, worked. Cool. But wait, no, I can't get it consistently, oh wait, now I can, but no, I lost it–I can't do it consistently at all and it's always quiet and it's never loud and squealy like it's supposed to be.
Thank you so much, it worked after my first try????????
Ok…. I've been playing for 35 years and do pinch harmonics in a completely different way – this method looks cool 🙂 My son is learning now, and found the method I use to be really difficult. I'm going to show him this vid as it seems a lot simpler than the method I use. Nice one!
U earned a sub with just one video… consider yourself lucky????
Sooo good … thank you
So it seems you have to choke up on the pick a bit right? Leaving only a bit of pick protruding from the thumb?
I've been playing off and on (mostly off????) for many years, but I've never really dedicated much time to honing this technique. I never knew that the attack position affected it at all, and im starting to think that this could actually be the reason I fail to produce a harmonic a lot of the times i attempt one. Does it matter where you're fretting as far as a possibility of cancelling it out?
Straight and to the point. Thanks!
I got in two days by barely knowing how to do it and trying to do psychosocial and figured how to do it
My thumb only works 1/10 tries
I have been trying to learn to do this for weeks now and I just fucking can't. I have no life no hobbies no friends and finally I wanna learn something and I'm just too fucking dumb I guess. Been nice knowing ya world. I'm out.
How do i place my thumb in the correct position for this to work? I’ve placed my thumb everywhere on the pick and still nothing
Thanks for the guitar lesson Ethan Hawke
Holy shit, thank you dude, been fucking trying since i was a kid and it never made sense to me, and its because i was plucking sideways, some bullshit tutorial had me plucking it like a normal note but just trying to hit my thumb on it. It would work about 25% of the time and could never get it back to back. Literally just watched half the video, started practicing, and i finally hit the 3rd fret E pinch harmonic. I CAN FINALLY PLAY PULL THE PLUG AND NOT GET PISSED OFF AT THAT SIGNATURE HARMONIC. If youre not a guitar teacher you should be dude.
