Pull Off Technique For Bass Guitar
Visit Talkingbass for Lesson Material: https://www.talkingbass.net/bass-technique-basic-pull-offs-2/
In this lesson I follow up on the topic of hammerons with the topic of Pulloffs. Pulloffs are a little tougher to play than Hammer Ons because of the subtle slipping off the string we need to employ and it takes more control.

Thanks Mark, Have a GREAT day!
Thanks for this video man been playing for 6 months and started learning the Grudge by Tool and couldn’t get my pull offs to sound right and your video helped get them to sound right
Damn man you make those trills look so easy. Looks like I got some practicing to do xD
Excellent course, just found out after 40 years of playing that I wasn’t doing a real pull off when I thought I was doing it 🙂
no close ups, figures
Thank you
Thank you for a very clear explanation and taking the time to explain this. I am still struggling with my pull offs, and apparently it's because my finger doesn't land on the finger board. Cheers!
Thanks man, I have been playing bass for 4 months now, and I never realized that it was an actual plucking motion when pulling off. I guess that was a consequence of learning from the internet:/
Hey Mark, I love your channel man! I have learned lots from you already. You are a great communicator. I just had a one quick question. Have you ever heard of Alain Caron? I love his style…great bassist. Can you do something on him or talk about him? If you already have pardon me…I am just late to the party.

Hi! Is there difference between 'lift off' and 'pull off'?? Thanks P
Thank you man! You explained it the best!
Just one problem. When I pull off, my finger rests on the next string as I hit the fretboard as u mentioned. However, it also touches the next string and causes 2 notes to ring.. Any tips?
Can't thank you enough for this video! No other video on youtube explains with such depth and clarity! Love you man!
Get that apostrophy sign out the title of the video before the internet hate hits you…
Or leave it in so more people click it in order to point the mistake out, if that's your strategy 😉
