Neural DSP just dropped Quad Cortex Update CorOS 3.1.0 and it’s jam packed with new features! This update brings extended plug-in support, fixes, and , most excitingly, updated amps and FX blocks. Today I’m going to test out the new offerings to see if these additions are game-changers or simply just a miss. We’ll be taking a look at the:

• US DLX 65 Reissue – Amp Model
• Subharmonic Synth – FX Block
• Harmonic Tremolo – FX Block
• Chief OC2 – FX Block

This may not be the place but if i only interested in effects, not amp modelling, profiling etc, is helix a better choice? I plan to use it for synthesizers so amps do not matter much.
My biggest gripe with qc vs fractal and line 6 is that it seems any upgrades they focus on for the near future will be plugin integration. This means on top of an already expensive unit, we will be forced to pay per plugin if we want any actual update

Is there a way to update from a pc ? Mine is not updating from 3.0.0 its showing that update is not possible and it sucks

To be fair the current update schedule for the QC revolves mostly around the plug ins and some quality of life improvements (the momentary switch thing is a big one) rather than free devices like Line6 does. After all almost every QC owner got sold on it through the plug ins and I'm surprised we are still going that slow. That said yeah, the free stuff isn't that special though the Dimebag Darrell wah they added is a good one that gets overlooked by other modellers, and not only for metalheads
