I'd love to see more from this series like recreating famous punk rock bass tones (Mike Dirnt, Mark Hoppus, Matt Freeman (Rancid), Fat Mike (NOFX), etc.) or heavy metal bass tones (I know you included Cliff in rock but I'd also love to see guys like Jason Newsted, Steve Harris, David Ellefson, John Myung, Troy Sanders (Mastodon), Paul Grey (Slipknot), Geezer Butler, etc.) as well

@ 50:18 Bandpass filter.
It is an eq that cuts out treble and bass.
In effect a combined high pass and low pass filter.
Usually you can select the width
and center frequency.
Start with a rather narrow bandwidth (high Q)
and sweep the center frequency
'til you find something you like.
Then set the bandwidth and gain to taste.
You can achieve the same result with a parametric eq,
but you'll have more options.
Like finding frequencies you don't like
and then cutting them.
Note that using frequency bands with
steep slopes can cause undesirable phase shift
(distortion) at the border frequencies.
Then I would grab a linear phase eq,
like the one in Logic Pro or Fabfilter Pro-Q 3.

So when did Scott get a wish version of himself?
I was taught to play Chameleon wrong plus I tend to pull up the last two notes of the run.
How is it that I can pick right before Scott confirms it? Yet I still can't tune my Bass by ear.
Whenever I listen to Larry Graham's Hair, I always have to turn the volume up to give it headroom. T.M Stevens version does not have the same issue. However, his is a newer recording and Funk/Metal.

Stomp was definitely recorded with his Sabre not a Stingray. If you've ever been lucky enough to play a pre-EB Sabre (as I was a few months back) you'll recognise that tone a mile away. Awesome basses
Larry Graham used his Roland Jet Phase when he played Hair
Herbie played the bassline on Chameleon, Paul Jackson did ad-libs. It's percussive because it was keys.

I’m new here, have they done doom/sludge bass tones? They may need to increase the time limit a smidge for those riffs.
It's not really fair Scott as some of this was played on a Moog Synth. Namely: Flashlight and P.Y.T. I also think that Red Hot Chili Peppers was played on a Musician Stingray with a Maple Neck which would make the sound a bit more soft/Mellow. Stomp sounds more like a Sabre being used. I have both a Stingray and a Sabre and the Sabre is so underrated as I actually like it better and it's somewhat easier to handle.
