This free preset will work across the entire Helix family – including HX Effects and HX Stomp. In this video I’ll be sharing my settings for emulating Pat Metheny’s famous Roland GR300 synth-guitar tone. It’s not exact and will never be with the current Helix effects available, but it gets as close as anything I’ve heard and I think gets the point across pretty well. As we go, I’ll also be sharing a few tips on creating your own synth patches in HX Edit and how to get the most out of the synth engines. It’s a fun patch and although takes a bit of getting used to, I think it’ll be a fun sound to work into my library.

While I was working on cruise ships, I refined each of these presets over the course of countless rehearsals and performances with a live band, not to mention the hours I spent sitting at the front of house desk in the main theater after-hours. I noticed in this YouTube "Recreating Pat Metheny's Synth Guitar Tone" – Line 6 Helix that you uses a sound called Synth-O-Matic that is not in the Stomp XL. Is there any update to how to recreate this icon Roland GR300 synth-guitar tone.
If possible, could you take a whack at Robert Fripp & Adrian Belew's synth sounds on the track "The Sheltering Sky" by King Crimson? Just wondering since they also used the same Roland guitars.
