  • Hi Mason, i use a Laney Digbeth bass pre-DI pedal
Obviously the XLR output is a lower impedence, 660ohm….no mention in manual what impedence the jacksocket to bass amp & cab is…. Should i add a standalone buffer like another Bonafide Buffer after the Digbeths bass's jacksocket to amp output? or is it low impedence from using an input buffer, Polytune 3 tuner… any advice would be appreciated, thanks..

  • My 2 cents on the marketing aspect; any time I can get something from a brand that I can associate with a person helps: Wampler, Keeley, JHS, Dave Freidman, Soldano, and Dylana Nova Scott from 3rd Power, I can make a personal association, even Chairmen of the Boards-Vertex, Goodwood, and Omilion- All because of their personal representation on social media that shows they care about their products. I'm sure that I'm forgetting someone but you get the idea. That's not to say that I won't choose another brand, because Boss, MXR, Strymon all make good products.

  • I think you got the EQD Blumes and Plumes mixed up. The blumes is made for bass and came out in 2024. I have one and its killer.

  • I played Synths as well as guitar for years and the Hologram is a major buzz. For guitar it is totally Shoe Gaze/Star Wars with an audience of one for guitar. On guitar I expect it could not make the top 10.

  • Thanks for holding down the fort Mason. Am always informed and educated by Brian, Grant and your work. Have a blessed Christmas break, and here’s to an excellent 2025!

  • I had some questions re: the Tone X One so I emailed them. They got back to me within 4 minutes making sure my issue was resolved- very helpful folks.

  • 7:12 Just as a quick note – the Hologram Chroma Console isn’t really an ambient pedal like the Microcosm, it’s more of an all-in-one like the H9 but with four effects at once in any order. The last effect has that sort of shoegaze thing going on, but the others are drives / modulation / delays.

  • I remember JHS Sweetwater list, always figured it was public, guess not. I use reverb to look at resale price percentage, not sure if you agree but I think resale says it’s reasonably good, and durable. Could be vid.

  • Great info, but even in full screen mode on a 60" TV screen, can hardly make out the blurred phone image. Thanks though for taking time to do this!
