I own the exact same one still this day.
Great sound
it's so chunky bro. I love it
This review sucks, when you went to both pickups you only played slap. Unless you are in a Level 42 tribute band you will probably spend only a tiny fraction of your time slapping so this is not helpful
I swear this guy was my music teacher in middle school
Wt…. , what a horrible bass!
That is not a Jazz Bass…it’s a double P with a Jazz body lol. It sounds good don’t get me wrong. But not a Jazz Bass…
Its so weird to see precision pickups placed on the bridge
Man it would be great if they'd get a bass player to demo these things
Once in a blue moon fender experiments
Two P pups on Jazz body. Blasphemy
Idea of P-bass pickup in the neck is great. I like jazz shape, but p-bass tone. But p-bass pickup in bridge position looks strange.
So… The Blacktop P Bass has 4 Jazz Bass pickups sandwiched into humbuckers, and the Blacktop J Bass has 2 P Bass pickups… Interesting…
Sounds like a jazz just a little chunkier. I like! It'd sound even better with an active pre. And a flatter fingerboard radius.
MIM? USA? JAPAN?
It's a middle pickup
What would you say is better this or a Schecter ?
Is that really even a neck pickup
It's got a Jazz Bass body, a Jazz Bass neck, Jazz Bass controls, a Jazz Bass pickguard, and it says Jazz Bass on it. 😛 The only thing that isn't Jazz Bass-y are the pickups.
im considering this as my first bass… im normally a guitarist so i dont know a lot but why is it called jazz bass if it has p bass pickups? or are they j bass pickups that look like p bass pickups?
Forget me nots, Fastlove, and Men in Black! Probably a few dozen moderately noteworthy tracks.
I'm not sure, but this may be "Fast Love" by George Michael.
they should do the blacktop p review too!
awesome sound…
Thats what they did with the blacktop series, they took a classic design then altered it in someway to make it different from every other jazz bass.
if its a jazz bass what up with the double P style pick ups
Screws are too tight.
i got this cheap bass, changed the tuners with shcaller tuners an put a leo quan badassII bridge and now it plays and sound better than my 1982 made in usa fender. i'd say it's a great buy but needs some mods. I'm even planning of changing the pickups with some spb-3 symour duncans 😉
Can you guys PLEASE review the jack casady epiphone signature bass? thank you!
I noticed that too!
this is the first guitar in the blacktop series i would consider buying.
That was great slap part; not overly aggressive like most attempts you hear.
I am very interested in that bass! I need to hear more! (Louder, too)
Turn up the fucking volume man!
why is that pickguard so warpy?
P P bass plays the misfits
i want this bass
