Rig Rundown – Greg Koch
Telemaster Greg Koch met with Premier Guitar’s John Bohlinger before Koch’s sold-out show at Nashville’s 3rd and Lindsley where the groovy noodles and mind-blowing jams were paralleled only by Koch’s warped sense of humor.

Greg Koch recently collaborated with Reverend Guitars to build the Greg Koch Signature Gristlemaster. This T-Style was inspired by Koch’s vintage Teles, but jam-packed with modern innovations like a slightly larger, chambered korina body, a roasted-maple, compound-radius neck, Wilkinson Classic 3-saddle bridge with staggered brass saddles, and a set of his signature Fishman Gristle-Tone pickups. He even got creative with the color names. Shown here is the model in Blucifer.

Greg makes me want to sell my guitars and take up bowling. He is so good.
The other dude look like a rooster tho
Greg's a cool mother fucker. Knowledgeable, versatile, everything I hope to be and so much more.
????????????????????
Tun Ing????
You're best yet John!
I began to be intrigued by Greg (can I call him Greg?!) around 2011/12 and was looking for a particular guitar review, and, of course, I bumped into his incredible capabilities on a 'Wildwood 10" video featuring ten different Fender Custom Shop guitars, as spec'd by Wildwood Guitars in Louisville, Colorado. I'm from the southwestern part of the state but had visited Wildwood a few times while on various trips to the Denver area. Incredible shop! I quickly found myself watching all sorts of Fender and Gibson reviews piloted by Mr. Koch, and it wasn't long before I started to think that he was singularly the best guitarist I'd ever encountered. And in the last twelve years, he's only gotten better. He plays on a level which I just can't understand, entwining numerous musical genres into the same video, completely seamlessly. To this day, I remain an absolutely huge fan and still believe him to be the best guitarist/musician on the planet! I hear that he's just as good a human being as he is fingerboard tactician. I can easily believe it!
GREG GOAT
The Greg Koch Trio played a late night show in NYC near Times Square and they were all dressed in Pink Bunny costumes but they sounded Amazing! ????????????????????
Amazing musician and natural comedian ????. Love this guy!
Brilliant player!
This is totally cool.
If he wasnt Great guitar player he'd be a Great maniac exhibitionist…
Greg made John sweat !! …. Very cool rundown guys …..
oddly, I am most reminded on Vinny Colaiuta when I hear Greg play. You could kick either of them off the top of Mt Everest & they would somehow land on the one.
Hahaha. Greg explaining his technique or gear is just useless to we mortals! ????????????
please don,t try to be a comedian
Bolinger just dyin' a heat wha!?!?!?!?
John seems to need new antiperspirant. Great interview though. Greg as always delivered.
Is John also 6’7” or is he standing on a riser? ???? (feeling short right now)
I’d love to see a show with Greg and Paul Gilbert…similar personalities and heights. Saw Greg with Andy Wood at the Open Chord in Knoxville last and I’ll see them there again this year after catching Greg’s show at City Winery, THEN I’ll see them AGAIN at the Woodshed Guitar Experience in Crossville.
When you played last week on the Norwegian pearl cruise with Joe Bonamassa, the keyboards were drowning you out you out.
Who doesn’t love to noodle??? !!!
Always admired his playing. Wow. My favourite episode of Big Rundown yet. What a super person Gregg is and now I’m even a bigger fan
Sorry you spend so much time on your ad, unsubbed.
Maybe a fresh tee for the interview. Naw.
Revisiting this. How often does John get to interview someone eye-to-eye? Tall peoples convention.
obviously it was a sweating experience for John
Can't wait to see the show in Youngstown!
Poplar is the worst wood for a guitar.
Sounds like mud.
Wood does make a difference.
John Bohlinger seems like an awesome guy but at the same time I could see him being a evil murderer.
John needs an antiperspirant holy guacamole batman
John's sweating his ass off up there… Look at them armpits.
OK fess up other than me how many others thought at first this was the guy that made the KOCH amps? ????
I admit it when i first seen him on video playing i thought h was the amp designer for that company.
There are lots of words about what an awesome player Greg is. Hanging out with him at Wildwood was both a hoot and a holler!
He's making his guitar sound like a "Pipe Organ!" – Is there anything this guy can't do?
See kids smoking pot and noodling in your bedroom does pay off….. it just takes about 40 years ????????
John's sweating his ass off
Coricidin-ish? It's a medicine bottle slide literally based on the coricidin bottle.
This episode is great but, not brought to you by Mennen.
The interviewer's armpits are leaking.
Deodorant John, weird sweat…
