  • Did not his favorite ES 335 get crushed by a Marshall amp that fell. Way back.

  • I just saw Tool in Toronto last week with my friends that I play in a band with and they actually brought out Alex for Jambi, none of us were expecting to see him (we were all staring at each other in shock like “Did Maynard actually just say that they were bringing out Alex Lifeson?”) but it was still awesome watching them go from Jambi (which is my buddy who’s our singer’s favourite Tool song) into the solo section of Passage to Bangkok then back to Jambi. Alex is still one of my favourite guitarists and Rush is one of my favourite bands, not to mention a reason why I’m proud to be from Toronto like the guys from Rush

  • So I have a question: so, is the tech saying “so” all the time or is it “sew”?

  • Its was a white Gibson 355 that gave Alex that sound in the early years that i fell in love with in the late 70s . You will notice a change in his sound in the 80s I like the raw sound of the early days up to Moving Pic. album It brings me back to my teen years

  • That 52 Re-Issue tele has 6 Brass Armadillo Saddles on it…
So it not “ just a regular tele”

  • this explains why rush never sounds right when I play it. all I have is a tele and an old twin reverb. I would love to play with that setup and see what it can do! RUSH. BEST BAND EVER.

  • I'd love to know how they rigged a footswitch to activate the piezo on his les Paul's. The push pull knob on mine makes switching during a song, completely impossible.

  • That's not the 335 he used in the 70's, he may have owned it in the 70's but his prefered player was a burst 335, he used it to the point of retiring it so i read. Check out the Pink pop YT video Rush are performing villa strangiato and Lifeson is doing some serious face melting. Dssdntial viewing.
