Rig Rundown: Train
Full Rig Details: https://bit.ly/TrainRigRundown
After a five-year break in studio releases, Train came roaring back this year with AM Gold and a tour with dates stretching into 2023 that’s delivering their new songs and a sampling of the group’s 28 charting singles from their nearly 30-year history. PG’s John Bohlinger stopped in on the band’s two guitar players, Jerry Becker and Taylor Locke, and bassist Hector Maldonado, before their June 21 show at Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheater. They displayed the big bevy of instruments they use to recreate the Train sound live.
PS: Special thanks to techs Wayne Davis and Stephen Ferrera-Grand for help running down the rigs.

Two of the nicest guys ever. Jerry is an awesome dude.
I really love the line 6 HX effects and everything it does but it suck the tone. I wonder if it was a setting I had wrong. I might have to revisit the Hx because it made life easy. There are a couple YouTube videos that show it sucks the tone.
"who doesn't love Train"
Pat Finnerty
We are going down the rabbit hole with Line 6 & modeling units. sigh
I saw train in Oklahoma, Cheyenne Arapaho drum circle an hour before the show. Giant storm behind the outdoor show slowly creeping up, maybe some mushrooms. GREAT SHOW!!
Not finished it yet but gosh I love this one so much. My favorite in a long time
Great rundown. I got the Gretch 1906 short scale guitar for my kid. It sounds great. These guys should consider the Taylor T5Z. I have one and it can go from acoustic to metal head. Very versatile and sounds fantastic.
Love seeing artists so exited to be in #rigrundown ????
So Very Cool Episode from a very Cool Band. Thankyou
Is that true about the ES-339, i.e., carved top and bottom? Isn’t that the 336??
What year are those pants?…..Cool! #StopTheTrain
This guys on top of things.
They should have hired another bald replacement guitarist
Bless his heart cant hold a heavy lp. Next…
Another great rig rundown .. well done John ……
No sound so bad what's the point of seeing these beautiful instruments without even hearing 10seconds of each ????
Excellent episode. Always enjoyable when the players actually know their shit in geek level detail. Love it.
Maybe consider sharing presets for rig rundowns that are digitally modeled? You could have a link below!
Train played my home town Hector rented my 62 p bass and my svt classic with 810 cab. They gave me back stage passes I had to work and couldn’t give those tickets away nobody I knew wanted to go.
Killer rig run down! Glad they have Hector on here too going over his bass rig. He's an amazing guitar player as well.
@patfinnerty dude i blame you for making me watch this
please tell me tell there's some other Pat Finnerty fans coming around here… STOP THE TRAIN
Wow. Marty McFly
