  • So Scott what would you choose:

Shure GLXD+ or this one? Man, im having a dilemma here… For a modeler pedalboard.

  • It’s possible you got the “Gain” and “AF Out” backwards. Gain is what you adjust for the signal going out of the transmitter (if your instrument is clipping, or not putting out enough output, etc). It’s the output of the transmitter. And AF Out is the strength of the signal from the receiver.

  • I just got this transmitter and receiver and it doesn't power up with my Voodoo Power 3+ on my pedalboard into the 12W 500mAmp power input. It does however work with the plug in power supply supplied with the receiver. Is it true that the power input is reverse polarity center positive +? I will have to wait until Monday to call Voodoo, or the dealer I bought the EW-D from. In the meantime I'm stumped.

  • Hey what’s up Scott, great video as always. I recently bought a track of karaoke version, but I’m wondering how you got it with just the individual stems and not the whole song together? I can only adjust it on the site before I download it. Do you just go through, mute everything, then download each instrument individually?

  • This is very much still prosumer wireless, the EW-D models are literally the cheapest options after the XSW they offer. The Lectro gear you've reviewed is actual professional 'high end' gear, that being said they've vastly improved the feature set compared to previous models.

  • Thanks Scott for taking the point about RF Mute into your – again – great video! I have now a solution which is best for me without the drawbacks of analog system ew100 and enjoying the ew-D advantages:
I bought 2x EW-DX SK transmitters and the ew-D Receiver. Those transmitters offer the RF Mute option and are compatible with ew-D. Bit more expensive but still reasonable priced for the functionality.

  • Replay!!! You rock Scott! No matter what video you create, I always take away an idea, learn, or reinforce something. Keep up the great work! Another very thorough product review video!!

  • I've been using 1 of these for the last 18 months or so and really like it.

I switched to it from a Line 6 G70/G75 and this has been so much more reliable for me, not had a single drop out.

Glad to see you finally got to try 1 of these as I know you're a fan of the SLX-D and the EW Analogue Sennheiser stuff, so I was curious to see what you'd think of 1 of these ????

  • Great job on the video. Very clear as always. Something I'd be interested in seeing is how you route to your pedal board from the wireless rack unit? I know it might be a simple idea of dragging a cable to the rack from the pedals but there might be best practices? Even for both acoustic and electric might have a bit of variance? Thanks!

  • Finally a great and much needed video on the EW-D! There are just a few decent videos on this unit and even so they don't get anywhere near your level of in depth explanations! I wish this came out earlier as it took me two months to decide on which system to buy lmao but I went with this and I'm really happy with it!

  • Good job!! Very nice reviews on wireless sistems…is it possibile to connect 2 transmitter at the same recever (for ex with 2 guitars) and how to do it? Thank a lot

  • Great device indeed! I'm torn about choosing a receiver for my setup. It's the same price as the Shure GLXD16+. I'm hesitating between this Sennheiser system for a rack and the Shure for a pedalboard.
As you point out, it's a "Pro Level" system, and I'm definitely not a pro. However, at an equivalent price to a WiFi system like the Shure, I'm seriously considering it. Can you help sort it out?

  • try pairing the EW SK with a sennheiser EW-DP (its marketed for cameras, but all specs are the same). I think its nice for a compatible pedalboard rig. I wonder why its not marketed towards this.

  • Correct me if I I'm wrong.

If someone want to screw you up all he have to do is to select "scan" on the receiver during the live performance and your transmitter will be disconnected. Did I I'm wright?

  • Love this unit. Had one for 1 year now…only issue ive had was the app. It would not connect most of the time. But other than that…..FLAWLESS!

  • You mention that the latency is only 1.9 ms, but this can actually add up if you have other wireless in the chain. For instance to your ears or a pa. Makes me think how cool it would be for The QC to just take a digital signal and avoid another ADC

  • I love my EW-D Cl1 wireless. I didn’t have good experience with the mobile app, but the front panel controls is good enough. One thing I should point out is, if you open the battery door to turn off/on between sets, make sure the battery door is closed and snaps shut. I’ve had my batteries fall out just by putting my bass on. I associate digital with latency, but 1.9ms is really good for wireless. Love your content… looking forward to the next.

  • Ive been using the system for about 8 months, the system works fantastic, however, the signal cable it comes with failed mid show a few weeks back, internet seems to have a few reviews of that cable failing after a few months. Worth keeping a spare in case this happens at a show as it did with me.

  • I know you are a guitar player but can you occasionally test a bass through the system as well… I'm a bit leery that all wireless "guitar" systems work just as well for bass… I got the swiff system from your recommendation and it has been working ok for my situation but now I am looking for a higher end system… I'd hate getting something that just won't work with bass frequencies…

  • How do you deal with muting and tuning? Do you run a feed from the receiver to your pedal board?

  • I have been using this system for 2 years and it has been flawless. I play 4 or 5 nights a week so it gets a good workout. I purchased a pair of the batteries and the charger to go with it. This is the single most reliable piece of gear in my rig! Great review. ????

  • Hello, Scott. Do you have any videos on this channel where you talk about wireless headset microphones? I play guitar and backing vocals too, and I generally like to play by walking around the audience and interacting with them. So I would like to know a good system with a cost/benefit ratio and good directional cardioid microphones, Countryman type headset, etc.

  • Hi Scott, great video as always. Sorry for the possible dumb question but how yo manage using IEM and guitar wireless. Where do you put your packs to avoid clutter and where do you usually put your units

  • Video idea, best batteries for wireless systems (alkaline, rechargeable, lithium…).

  • I have two of the first gen models (ew d1-cl1) would it be worth upgrading or am i fine sticking with the ones i have now?

  • Would love to hear your thoughts on this system vs the Shure SLDX, I get the impression that they are kind of coke/pepsi in the market for their price range.

  • 13:30 the "delay" is probably not the signal itself but just how long it takes the sound coming out of the speaker to actually reach you. Just clarification for people thinking the delay might be coming from the system.

  • My question is… if you have multiple guitars with different pickups (humbuckers/active) and you have songs with different ranges and tones, are you required to adjust the gain and AF every time or can you get away with just setting it to one and done?
