Seymour Duncan Heavy Weather pickups vs. Fender Standard Jazz Bass stock pickups

Here’s a mighty amateurish comparison of a Fender Standard Jazz Bass (MIM) stock pickups versus Seymour Duncan Heavy Weather pickups. The Fender Standard Jazz Bass here is a 2002 model. Blue TIME STAMPS below. Sorry that the strings were accidentally tuned down a bit for the stock pickups! Oops. I recorded this with my cell phone… using the same Fender Rumble V3 500W 2×10 Bass Combo Amp with settings all turned to 12:00.

0:19 stock neck, tone off
0:50 Heavy Weather neck, tone off
1:20 stock neck, tone on
1:50 Heavy Weather neck, tone on
2:20 stock bridge, tone off
2:40 Heavy Weather bridge, tone off
2:57 stock bridge, tone on
3:17 Heavy Weather bridge, tone on
3:39 both stock pups, tone off
4:18 both Heavy Weather pups, tone off
4:56 both stock pups, tone on
5:33 both Heavy Weather pups, tone on
6:13 stock slap attempt
6:35 Heavy Weather slap attempt
6:52 my verdict
