  • I agree with another reviewer here…nice guy but he mumbles from the beginning till about mid way through where it's a little easier to understand him. His points are there on the basic operation of the controls but glosses over some of them. It's kind of frustrating to watch sometimes.
I have this pedal. It is a VCA type comp (voltage controlled amplifier) as opposed to OTA (current controlled type) or an Optical type. The others being FET or Tube type. Another reviewer is correct about the switch applying to the dry signal. I would have started the review by telling the power requirements are 9 or 18vdc at 20mA. He plays very well though!
There are better reviews on this pedal…and worse ones too that I've seen. This ones OK.
Nice he covered using it as a boost and a little crunch.

  • I think the reviewer misunderstands what the mid/full/high switch is doing. Rather than affecting the compressed (wet) signal, the switch controls the dry signal. As a general comment, I'm not sure how useful these YouTube reviews are for compressor pedals because the sound of the video is highly compressed and it is difficult to hear much difference between the compressed and non-compressed sounds being demoed.

  • I think this is the best review I've heard of the compressor, largely because its good to hear it in a more 'jazz' setting and hear some chord work and single note lines. Most reviews I've seen of it you hear a bit in a metal context then the same funk licks that everyone knows. Thanks for making a review that shows the other sides of the pedal, and with some really great playing too!
