  • Great video. Wanted to love the Drop but it had too many artifacts for recording, so I had to return it. Hoping one of these days the technology nails it for Dropping and Alternate tunings.

  • These things aren't the worst product you can buy. DEFINITELY make sure to get a higher quality. Unfortunately, you get what you pay for with these. Your best bet is to have an axe that's set up for c (drop c for me because eff standard) and then those first two or three shifts are great. Also, if you run sound through digital setups, the right programs will give you a much better sound quality all the way down. James hetfield runs digi now. So can you!

  • As someone who usually plays rock and has now gotten into djent the pedal literally saved me from buying a new guitar

  • 5 semitones is a perfect 4th. 7 semitones is a perfect 5th. And then the octave setting is 12 semitones. 6 semitones is 3 whole tones, or a tritone.

Just wanted to clear that up since the video was a little confusing.

  • If you had the guitar on D standard original tuning , will that help the lower semitones to hear less muffled?

  • Hi everyone! Does this pedal allow you to just drop d the low E string without affecting the other strings in standard tuning?

  • Obviously place it first in the chain, and it's a great pedal for key changes on the fly. As a lead vocalist and lead guitarist, it's an essential for my rig.

  • Is there any use for this pedal with a clean guitar? I didn't hear one non-distorted note. Maybe chugga-chugga is all it's good for…

  • It is more than just the drop part of the Whammy DT. The Whammy DT can also tune up, while the Drop can only downtune.

  • Was considering one to drop my bass tuning from B to A for a different band. Would it struggle? As you mention it does the lower you go on a guitar.

  • Also handy for small venues where you don't have room to bring in 5+ guitars.able to just bring in 2-3 with this thing if I have to.not my favorite thing to do but if u have no room this can really help you down size your drop key guitars.doesnt sound as good as a tuned down guitar but it works.

  • Cover band must have, and if you play a lot of slide blues and or use slide to mimic steel guitars it works great to run your slide guitar in open G and then you can drop down 1-4 steps and able to cover your rolling stones, plus all your blues, plus your country/western plus your outlaw country, steel guitar sound,Jack johnson etc.if you are a slide player u can cover alot of ground with this thing by hitting all those different keys.pretty dang handy

  • Checking in from 2025 to say this is still the coolest pedal ever made for us locking nut owners. My F-2E can now live in standard E forever, lol. ????

  • my guitars are tuned in D standard and drop C, can i use it to make my tuning go up to E standard? i dont want to tune my guitars to E standard and use that to drop my tuning..thank you

  • Octive+dry is soooo sick. I use it for a massive bass tone, and with a weekends worth of reverbe it starts to sound surreal

  • 5 half steps down is a perfect fourth down, not a fifth. This is a solid demo otherwise!

  • Funny this thing popped up on my feed. Our band has two of these. One for the guitarist and one for our bass player. I’m the singer and at the age of 59 now, my stamina isn’t once what it was when I was in my 20s and 30s. We use these pedals to do songs that I wouldn’t normally be able to do, or that I could do, but would exert a lot of extra effort that might impact songs that I would later sing in the night. By doing this, it keeps my voice fresher, and don’t need to strain nearly as much as I would singing them in the key they were recorded in. Some songs we drop half a step and some songs we drop a full step. Not all songs sound OK dropping, you just have to try them out. As an example, “rock ‘n’ roll fantasy“ by bad company, just doesn’t sound right dropping it either a half or a full. But songs like “I don’t know“ by Ozzy and “heading out to the highway“ by Priest sound perfectly fine in a full step drop. We do “ hey baby“ by Ted Nugent in a half step drop and it sounds great there too. But this thing is a game changer in my opinion.

  • Thanks for the vid! So, if your guitar is in standard tuning, and you want to play a drop D song, you would lower the pedal 2 clicks (or two 1/2 steps) correct? Thanks for your time and work!

  • My new Jackson minion bass already has enough string rattle on the e string while in E standard. ???? yes I can just take it to a luthier, but I think this pedal is effective for people who don’t wanna mess with their tuning keys.

  • This pedal is epic as long as you either use it on its own power supply or through an isolated input.

  • I don’t own this pedal, but another nice use is when you practice a song a certain way all week then Sunday morning the singer requests the key to be lowered and sometimes you can’t play the same riff with the same fingerings because your guitar neck is not long enough!

  • So if i wanted drop C, i would tune down a whole step but still step but still tune down the E string ? Is that right?

  • We live in the age of information. I love it. I have my own reasons why I want this pedal. I didn't want to waste my money. I needed to know if this sounds good at 2 half steps down. It does. Thank-you. I subscribed as well. You have good commentary with little to no fluff which matters to me. ????????????
