Edit: I claimed that Class D amplifiers have lower THD than Class A/B – I was informed wrong/got something wrong while doing my homework – I was a bad student 😉 Sorry! However, my point with the odd and even harmonics seems to be confirmed from what I read at second glance, so maybe that’s a point to consider – sorry for the mishap!

Hearing a mix using of both of those amps would sound good.
I've been pretty convinced that A/B is better for a while, based on things I've heard, but this video finally seals it (and explains why). I am holding off getting the PB because it looks like Orange will be releasing new solid state portable options soon (plus, unfortunately I do not like the visual design of the pedal baby)
For $60 more, you can get a Orange Super Crush 100 head.
No idea why people would buy this Pedal Baby. Just get the Super Crush head.

I own both and the Pedal Baby sounds better hands down. It's a HI FI MOSFET power amp for guitar.
cool video!! I've ordered one of these some weeks ago to use with my tonex and my own captures and I really like it! For a tube amp guy, it does the job very well! As expected it's is high quality, orange quality! Sad it doesn't receive the deserved attention in times modelers are very present everywhere ????

Hi Pipp. Great video as always. One question. I currently own a GPA-100 but i play mostly in bedroom level. Do you think the pedal baby will give me a better "feel" even with a lower volume or i would need to crank it? Thanks
Been using this thing for about 4 years now. Love it! Tried it with a Fractal FM3 and Quad Cortex at very loud band volumes & it can hang pretty well.
Class D amplifiers have a much higher total harmonic distortion (THD) than Class AB amplifiers. A Class AB amp outputs a sine wave, while a Class D amp outputs a pulse-width modulation (PWM) signal, which is then filtered to approximate the input. In my experience, Class AB produces much richer mids than Class D. Have you ever been to a show and wondered why you can't hear the guitars in the mix? Often, it's because they are using Class D amps, and the mids simply aren't present to cut through.
