Sire Marcus Miller Z3: https://sire-usa.com/collections/marcus-miller-z3

Hey Everyone! Today we’re finally delivering the goods with our in depth review of the Sire Z3. The world of budget Stingrays has long been dominated by Sterling By Music Man, but a new challenger arises in the Sire Marcus Miller Z3. Featuring some eye catching sparkly finishes, a Stingray style humbucker wired in parallel from the factory, and a lot of little touches that you’d expect to see on a USA Music Man, the Z3 is here and it means business! Let’s check it out!

This bass and all my other basses with rounds are strung with SIT Foundation Nickel Plated Stainless Steel 45-105(125) unless otherwise noted. Check them out at https://sitstrings.com/

  • Looking for the Z7 review, I decided to get the Z7, after watching the Z3 review. The weight is 8.15 almost 9 pounds, I didn't get the Natural, they are out of stock right now.

  • Dang it, ????. I've been eyeing this bass for a little while. I saw this review a couple of weeks ago and fell in love with it. Almost everyone has them backordered, but I was lucky enough to find ONE rose gold 4 string at a mom and pop guitar shop in Texas that was discounted because it was open box. It looked great in the provided pictures so I jumped on it and can't wait for the post office to finally deliver it! I hope I have better luck with the tuners on mine since neither Gotoh or Hipshot have a no drill drop in solution. ????

  • Does anyone know if the Gotoh Res-O-Lite GB528 tuners are a direct drop in replacement? I have one of these pre-ordered and I can't wait!

  • Good to see you back, and congrats! I have to say I liked the sound of the Sire better in the blindfold challenge, and I thought it would be the BFR. Go figure.

  • Sterling messed up by not switching to the 5 bolt. I love the 5 bolt neck joints and the only reason I stuck with EBMM but now I’m gonna try a sire out

  • Just received my Z7 yesterday final hours of the 24 hour waiting period for unboxing. Would you please touch on the issue with the twenty four hour unboxing recommendation for unboxing in your Z7 review please ???????? Thank you in advance!

  • You give the best reviews, thank you ???????? I’m on the fence between this bass and the Sterling Pete Wentz signature model passive stingray, i prefer passive over active basses, I like the simplicity!

  • Funny thing, there really sound like a stingray! Well done Sire. To me the iconic Stingray is about the tone, oval pick-guard, and 3+1 headstock. I know they cant do the 3+1 because of the Ernie Ball patent but 2 out of 3 knocked out of park 🙂
