Very smart. I don't know if I've seen anyone do a video like this before. Great idea.
Definitely feeling some early Arctic Monkeys vibes
“…in an ultimate fashion.” Rabea, I know this is three years late and you won’t see this, but that was low key hilarious comment ????
I would love to hear a shoegaze inspired rig as well!!
No gaping holes found! ????????
18:35 in and still waiting for the indie sounds.
9:13 is literally Dr. Tar and Professor Feather by The Allan Parsons Project.
Can you guys do rascals era Miles Kane??..I think the live sound he had when he played live with them is so underrated..I'd like to see his more modern set up but more interested to see how you guys go about getting his 2009 live sound.
Don't know if Vox works with Squier Jag. Too jangly and harsh. Wish I could hear the G and L with the Vox.
You need a bassist, OR a keyboardist, to fill out this evolved "Sound Like" concept, AND you'd sell more gear. No one will be able to hear the bassist due to laptop speakers, but still.
This Jag is now over 500! Things changed pretty quickly, eh?
The Ultimate Modern Clean Rig could be fantastic
Sound like the 1975??? Could be interesting with the way they layer guitars
8:00 that starter jam! ????
First tune sounded sonic youth second like the strokes
Boss katana, zoom ms70, squier bullet = shoegaze, ambient, post rock, indie
As a new small indie band I approve
MR.BIG PLEASE!!!!!
Sounds a bit Arctic Monkeys and Kaiser Chiefs
Hey guys i have the same blues jr amp. It has an amazing clean sound (after speaker broke in). I wanted something bigger with more bass so i got a orange crush120 combo
Wow that squier sounds phenomenal for the price, probably the best sounding one I’ve heard
2:16
This is better
But i like this
I play the same model of semi hollow ibenez and it's a beautiful thing that when broken in plays beautifully
I would love to see an Ultimate Psychedelic Rock Rig.
Who else thinks they should consider trying to replicate the sound of Modest Mouse
I say you should try dinosaur jr. Very influential indie band (atleast i think theyre indie). Could be a great challenge because of the dizzying effects and wide around of noises
Please do beach house
Sound like country rig
Sounds like no indie I've listened to. Prefer this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ewdnn_EgU1s&t=242s
sounds like pavement
funny how they play when the sun goes down when they’re doing indie rock
Sounds like Brand New, Fender guitar and amp and loads of pedals. They're a forbidden band now I know but idc
I've got a Squier Jaguar with .009s on it and you don't need thick heavy strings. I would recommend changing the bridge for the Mustang style so that you're not constantly knocking the strings out of place but it's now about the most stable tuning guitar I've got. You do def have to be gentle with the tremolo arm (no divebombing) and make sure the nut is well looked after (either graphite the slots or change for a Tusq one) but don't be dissuaded from buying one because you think you need to use heavy gauges.
I want to sound like Arctic Monkeys
1:44 Did Matt just make a Tenacious D reference to the "This is a Tribute" by saying "you gotta believe it"? xd
a;lwkejgfaw;leifjaw;leifj I wish I could afford a Gretsch so baddd
Why is everyone referring to Mac De Marco? He is not indie rock.
brilliant thank you. shoegaze next please.
Its basically the Albert Hammond Jr. and Nick Valensi match up. Albert rocks the single coils and Nick always uses the semi hollow body with humbuckers
Also would love to see a "The War on Drugs" sound like video. Uses rad vintage gear and has a massive pedal board. Would be really interesting. Has a rig rundown out there so you could see the gear he uses.
This felt more of like "Alternative Rock" rig. For indie I would have been expecting like The Shins, Arcade Fire, Real Estate, Built to Spill, Modest Mouse (early), Best Coast, etc.
9:48 That "Yeah" by Rabea was hilarious
