Source Audio Multiwave Bass Distortion Review

Clipping or overloading a signal will bring out hot spots. It will exacerbate mud and make chords on a bass often sound messy or flubby. Enter the Source Audio Multiwave Bass Distortion! By dividing up the bass signal into 10 distinct frequency bands and distorting each of those independently, and then recombining them, you get real clarity and evenness. Chords come out intact and dynamics give it a real voice. By adding a feedback-like foldback circuit, high frequencies can be enhanced and played with in ways no other normal pedal can even try to replicate, to the point that an octave-like effect is possible along with the drive. It’s so smooth, at times it sounds down right synthy!

Check out this Show ‘n Tell episode where Jet gives Reg the lowdown on this killer pedal, using his (apparently) favorite bass, the Kubicki Factor, through an Ampeg SVT-IIp tube preamp.
