Add in the American Ultra series too.
The Classic Vibe has an annoying sticky back.
I have a classic vibe 60s squirt and a mim player Strat. Both great guitars but the player Strat is brighter with more clarity.
Squiers are great, but you still get a lot of that "cheap guitar" feel unless you upgrade them. Im talking things like fret sprout, bridges not being very good and springs contacting the back plate. Coming from someone who owns both, just get the player series. My Squier is just as nice as my Fender, but I have just as much money in it, and a lot more work.
These guitars are way too expensive
A pound of gold or iron sound the same if you drop them on the ground, which would you rather have in your hand Fender or Squire?
Bugga the sound. It's how the guitar feels to play, anyone can throw in different pick ups .
Soo so minuscule when in the mix. The fender sounded like it had a better bass response. But that can also be pickup height . Lots of factors.
You're the best left handed guitar player!
gimme da Squier. I'll put the money saved towards a sweet amp.
Nope.
My wallet can hear the difference very clearly. But I only play metal so my ears can't tell the difference
No.
I don’t feel that a players series is worth the price of two classic vibes
Mexico strats are the way to go. They feel and play just as good as American. No need to spend thousands.
IMHO, the Player series sounded best.
different neck wood
Sounds bit different
Both guitars has very great sound! I can't feel the difference 🙁
I'm just tryna find this jazzy tune
i have a squier affinity it is already 8 years and still.plays great
Lots of copium in the comments lol. I listened with my eyes closed the first time through and I kept waiting for you to switch guitars. Didn't realize until it was over that you already had at some point.
I didn't have a Jaguar in my collection and I had 1500 US dollars to add one. I was really close to buying a Fender Vintera but at the last minute I bought a Squier CV 70s Jaguar and ordered two Burns Tri-Sonic single-coil clones from the Creamery in Manchester. I also bought a Contemporary Jaguar and put two Railhammer Bob Balch humbuckers in it. For the same price as one Fender I got two completely different Jaguars that both sound incredible.
With my eyes closed, the Player sounded like it had slightly less body.
I was reading the comments and was like “when is the other one gonna come in” so I click back I. The video and it was almost over I thought that was one guitar ????
need more examples – here they sound identical – how do the necks feel too you…..
Besides hardware and set up, the more expensive Fenders have premium woods. A Squier neck is more flexible than an American Strat. It means it takes more effort to bend strings to pitch. The Mexico series is somewhere in-between …. That said a good player will sound good on a cheap guitar but may have to work a little harder to do so.
I closed my eyes, I actually didn't realize you switched
I bought a player series amd resold it I wasn’t feeling it the quality is like a squire but with fender logo on stuff that’s it
I just bought a special edition fender player series. I have to say it is incredible, very well built/set up. Play really nicely and feels smooth. Have abused the whammy bar and it stays in tune so I'm glad i spent the money.
Player series is a Squire
Strat sounds a bit fatter
The regular Stratocaster is brighter then the squire
Squire sucks get a real fender
Player is a little more vintage vibe and slightly more airiness
I once snubbed squiers but now own a mascis and 40th anniversary strat.Squire are comparable to fenders in the last few years.
really have to ask yourself–is manufacturing any different in Mexico, USA or Indonesia? No. They all use the same CNC machines, same QC and same level of employees. It's all the same stuff crammed into a tiered marketing system designed to extract maximum margin from multiple price points.
The Fender strat may sound better but the feeling and playability of a Squire is unmatched and that’s just a fact ????♂️
Classic vibes are better than most Mexican-made Fenders. I'll die on this hill.
Similar but still a difference
I own a MIJ Squire 1987. It was my first guitar back in 87. Saved my paper route $ for it. It's the BEST playing and sounding Strat I have. All specs on it are like a 62 Strat except for the Gotoh modern tuners and cheaper elecs which I changed out 30 some yrs ago
The sound difference is going to be minuscule but playability, durability etc will be what’s most noticeable .But the sound itself is all gonna come from the players fingers and quality of the amp/cab used.
I’ll take Classic Vibe ANYTHING over MIJ/MIC/MIM Fender…
Shame we didn’t see the signal path, could have used a compressor to help get a similar sound
I have a Mexican strat and would never buy anything less or more. Its the most beautiful feeling guitar ever.
The Player series were like $499 in 2010….
Not much difference
Only the squier contemporaries or reissues are worth it. Not the Bullets or the super cheap ones
