Gross tone. Gross chords. Gross slogan on the wall.
Basically Jughead if he was from Toronto and his parents bought him a guitar instead of a laptop
Saw a band called "Max" at the legendary Horshoe Tavern years ago, its Dave Monks of Tokyo Police club and some other members too, I think, but I forget, anyways…I didn't know Pup as well then but I had seen them play recently too. I was sitting next to Steve at the bar pretty much all night and I was like I think that's Pup's guitar player but I wasn't sure, was able to confirm when I got back home.
Side note about Horshe Tavern, its referenced in Bobycageon by The Tragically Hip, when Gord sings "that night in Toronto, with its checkerboard floors" he's referring to the black and white tiling at the Horshoe Tavern.
how does one buy 39,000 worth of stuff to sound so cool
He just seems so nice! And the philosophy was a nice change.
Reservoir Pup
YOOOO peep the Jeff Rosenstock “WORRY.” decal @ 0:17
Lmao he started playing Death
Yo @tymguitars.
My fav band can’t wait to see them next month
Kind of… kind of like
Loud background stock music in a gear video. I've seen it all.
WHY IS THIS VIDEO SO SHORT I WANT MORE
I really want that DVP flag
I like his approach on playing, people sometimes think they “need” pedals or extra stuff to sound better but they really don’t. Steve’s a cool dude
Why the fuck is there music playing in the background while he's playing?
my first pedal was the blues driver too!!
Need more musicians educating other musicians like him!! I would've thought his surname was pronounced Sladkovski?
This guy sucks.
Sweet baby Jesus, your Electrosonic cab matches my combo EXACTLY. I never thought I'd see another one.
thanks for this video, but please make sure to get one decent shot of all the pedals on the board for us pedalnerds. thanks guys!
That DVP flag is amazing
One of my favorite players out there today. His chord voicings are always imaginative.
COSTCO SOCKS!
Please don't put background music over the sounds you are trying to document
Love this still on my sound journey
riff master flex
I love watching these kinds videos and to see one from a band that I look up to, it makes it even more interesting.
i know nothing about guitars or the equipment he was talking about, but this was still fascinating. god, i love pup.
Amazing guitar player from an amazing band
This dude is a solid dude IRL. Bouncers were being a bunch of meathead d*cks to my buddy at one of their shows and he settled the situation. Good man
