You, have just made me glad I bought the Ghost Drive kit for my first pedal build. I can't wait to see if it sounds like my Archer Ikon!
They sound basically the same, to me. I think the character of the distortion sounds identical. I might like the softer sound of the cheap one – but I wonder if the difference is merely a matter of lowering the treble on the Ghost, and increasing the volume on the Demon FX klone. Does the Demon FX whistle all the time when its controls are cranked? That would turn me off from getting one. But otherwise, I might want one.
