I play metal alot but love the blues , the roots to it all. My leads are very bluesy and sound pretty cool over some metal riffs. Appreciate your videos man you are a very good teacher and have a very cool vibe . Awesome playing too.
great video, Alex! and what a great companion to your earlier post for Stormy Monday. love your channel!
HO-LEE-CRAP!! That is easily THE best rendition of Stormy Monday I have ever heard. Absolutely killer chops Alex! I'm floored! Just purchased the set of chords and leads for this. If I can get 1/100th of that I'll die a happy man.
There's another year's worth of study/practice in this one.
Alex,
Really. great lesson! I'll be working with this video dozens of times for sure. Your solo elicits some laugh out loud wow! moments.
OXBOX!!!! Got one, totally baffled by it. An OXBOX lesson or series of lessons would surely be much appreciated. I'm very bad atinstruction manuals, learn best by example.
Cheers from New York City,
Awesome as always Alex, hope you're well mate
Thanks for yet another quality lesson, and for your tasty playing Alex. The level of detail you provide here is just perfect for me, alongside with your tips, thoughts and explanations. Thank you very much.
Thanks so much for the wonderful lesson Alex ???????? grateful for what you do here brother
Hey Alex, class lesson as usual!
Just wondering what video editing software you use. I’m looking to film a friend playing some jazz guitar and love that vintage film effect that you are using !
It is so cool to find instruction like this on youtube. I have been looking for instruction exactly like this all over and here it is. What a great musician and teacher. You have a great style. Listening to your examples are very inspiring and motivating. Thanks so much.
amazing work as always, worth every penny of your patreon! and loved the Mowgli pun ????
Not only amazing playing also absolutely wonderful tone. Still Sunbear pu’s?
Another fantastic lesson Alex. Really appreciate your lesson materials and video content . You are a true master . Put me down as an interested party for your Universal Audio OX set-up
Downtown and then uptown sophistication blues lesson all in one. This is the reason I only really follow Alex’s channel-it’s “da” best full format no fluff content full stop.
This lesson along with the recent minor blues one can keep you going for months. So much awesome information!????
I went to music school for guitar performance, and I can say hands down this is the best lead guitar instruction I’ve come across. I had so many private teachers who could play incredibly well, but they were too lazy or impatient to break down their process in detail.
Excellent work
All amazing but 2.12 – 2.17 just gorge on a different level imho!
Effin' amazing as always. Thank you!
Fantástico
Tremendous source of ideas and concepts… Fantastic lesson, Alex!
Beautiful presentation, Alex! I’ll take a well paced and tasteful blues solo over a start to finish shred, ANY day. You’ve got taste, pace and tone in spades, my friend????????!
This is fantastic quality material, as ever from you.
Great lesson! Thanks Alex, I loved the jazzy tools
Fantastic lesson Alex! A treasure trove of information. Very practical, well explained and excellent examples. ????
So good. And so above my pay scale.
Your mastery of tone is frickin' awesome!!!!
Smooth as silk!
Amazing Alex! Since our lesson, I’ve tried to stop thinking about major/minor blend when playing blues and tried to think more about choosing chords tones/extensions when wanting the major sound. It’s really helped me with doing this blending. This lesson is treasure. I’ve been working on transcribing the Duane Allman solo from Fillmore east, so this lesson couldn’t be better timed.
awesome brother
love the phrasing on the turnarounds!
and oh shit—i just posted a video last night where I use the same parable about the fishing rod versus the fish when I’m talking about Chris Parks‘s opinion on transcription, I swear to God I didn’t steal it from you dude it’s a pure coincidence!!
Yes ox box vid!
Only one word for this…..Sublime! Skydog and Dickey would be proud.
Always Top Notch HOT STUFF from ALEX!!!!
Thanks, so much, Alex. Been looking forward to this.Just bought the lesson and can't wait to dig in. Wish me luck. Think I'll need it!
OK…….now this fantastic blues soloing lesson has taken over the top spot as #1 favorite A.F.G. lesson of all time!! There's not much missing in the detail and ideas presented in this fantastic lesson on soloing especially coupled with Alex's equally phenomenal Stormy Monday Blues Rhythm course Alex released late last year!! Spectacular growth predicted for this guitarists' playing future!! Jim C.
