Strack Woodworking Reclaimed P-Bass – No Treble
It’s hard to beat a simple concept done well. That’s something that luthier Dan Strack strives for – and something he attained – with this P-style bass made from reclaimed wood.
“My design aesthetics are ever-evolving, while always gravitating towards simplicity. I like to refine something to the point where it appears simple, but still has impact,” Strack states on his website. “Efficiency is a goal of mine in both design and process. I also strongly believe in respecting our environment, so I always try to use responsibly sourced materials and non-toxic finishes.”
This gorgeous bass is built from reclaimed Douglas fir and pine with a walnut fingerboard. “Reclaimed Douglas fir and Pine are great for guitars,” the luthier explains. “In most cases, they have been air drying for over 100 years, which makes them well tempered, stable and resonant.”
Finally, the bass is fitted with a single-ply black pickguard and a Fralin pickup.
