After the success of the Supro Delta King 10 and Delta King 12 models, Supro perhaps has outdone themselves with another splash into the compact tube amp world. The Montauk features independent gain and master volume controls, 2-band EQ, and tube spring reverb with level and dwell controls. Ah, sweet, Power Amp in, so effectively an FX loop, right? I adore my Delta King 10, but I do wish it had an FX loop instead of just a line out.
You can't judge an amplifier or any other gear from A video, you have to dig much deeper. They're asking a thousand dollars….. and……… No/00 for this 15 watt amp. The #1 question should be what about build quality or the lack there of. Will it stand the test of time? are the tube sockets board mounted on the cheapest circuit board like Fender and Marshall have been screwing us for a few decades.
Pigtronics isn't known for quality gear as Bruce Zinky is. The Supro Sahara for example in which i have two. The pushed into overdrive wasn't that good compared to known good designs. You can make a AM radio sound warm and clean in a cheap studio. Does it have enough transformer / iron to do the job? So many hungry shills out there seeking to cash in on your ignorance. You can buy a well built hand wired Swart AST tweed head for 700.00 more, just sayin.
Be wise with your money. From my experience amps like this cost less than a 100 bucks in materials and like i said they're asking a grand. You're welcomed.
What market is this one trying to capture vs the amulet? Couple of differences granted, such as power in, but can't get my head around the pecking order here
Class "A" with a 6L6 and that speaker withba sprinkling of "Magic" makes this the best clean 15watt combo ever. New benchmark to replace a Princeton maybe? Love the bold high mid and the cabinet design is a styler!

Man I love that speaker / mic combo. There’s this tiiiiiny bit of low mid grind in there that just sounds sweet.
there are very few 10” speakers i like, and this one sounds great. it sounds bigger than it is.
