  • Don't look for such expensive amp, i get the same tone out of my Marshall code 100 and much more, you just have to dail in it. It took me 10 minutes. I don't want to say it are bad amps, they are great also.

  • I now have the funds for any model Supro Amp. These sound good to my ear. I am looking for a 12-24 watt amplifier that distorts early. I prefer that over a very loud and clean amplifier.
I hope you don't mind me asking you but are Supro Amplifiers really hand wired? I don't understand how they can have 3 PCB (Printed Circuit Boards) and still be considered hand wired. To me hand wiring consists of a metal tray called a chassis. All the electronic components are surface mounted using the method of pushing the wires from each component through specifically located holes in the metal chassis in order to mount the individual component and then routing the wire "point to point". I am asking because I am ready to make a Supro Amp purchase and I would like to know more about them. I am not asking just for the sake of curiosity.
I guess I just have to have one shipped to me and find out for myself.
    BTW I like your playing.

  • I was born in Port Jefferson N.Y. and now you say they are making these classic Supro Amplifiers there! Cool, but go figure, 3 years ago I moved to Tennessee. I am on the lookout for another all tube amp with tube rectifier and tube tremolo. I have a nice Fender 5 Watt all tube amp that has a rectifier and tube tremolo it's called the EC Vibro Champ (EC = Erick Clapton) and they do sound similar. I would like to have more power with the same tone and this one sounds so close to my Fender EC Vibro Champ Amp.
Anyway, now I have to purchase my own Supro. This S6420+ Thunderbolt so far would be my choice. Soon, I hope to have one of these. Play on Bro!

  • Pretty sure, without checking, that the solo in 'Stairway to Heaven' is a Telecaster through a Supro…

  • I tried one of the new Supro Dual Tones the other day and I was very impressed.  These amps don't have a ton of features but the tones were great.

  • Nice playing! Just I'd like a more balanced review showing all pros and cons for all they review. Same for all the other on-line magazines.
